But forgot the walmart here doesn't have a food court, so I settled for 600 rounds of 9mm and 1100 rounds of .22

My permit just came today so I figured it was the right thing to do  I applied on August 7th, fingerprinted August 8th, Permit was approved August 24th, received permit today August 31st. The last week has a been long one watching the mailbox everyday. Today I wasn't even going to go check the mail for fear of disappointment, but my eyes got big and so did my grin when I saw the envelope sitting there. 24 days from application to receiving it

Don't worry, the Walmart and the nachos do not have to go together.

Walmart is where you go to spend some time in public and get comfortable while realizing that nobody notices.

Nachos are what you could buy a lot of with the money you do not spend on a CCW badge.

Ammo is better than nachos anyway!!

I agree

I kept thinking someone would notice as I felt I was printing badly, but I was wrong. I'm carrying in a bianchi 105 minimalist OWB holster so I know that's not helping me much, but it is going to have to make due until my custom holster comes.

It's definetly a different feeling, but one I will never trade in again. Having come from a communist state (IL) I appreciate the opportunity that I have been given

Sooner or later you'll realize you could carry a shotgun on a string around the top of your arm and just let it hang beside you and you MIGHT get 5-10% of the people you're around noticing it.

When I open carry at Walmart I think the majority of people don't notice.

Concealed? Forget about it. Very few will ever notice.

Congrats!! Nachos are good arent they, especially with the cheese.

Man you could probably carry a howitzer under your arm and most of the peeps wouldnt notice. Im just kidding about the howitzer, but you get the point.

Wal-Mart would've been a good place to start for me, but my first public appearance as an armed citizen was at the local Applebee's. I did the "Applebee's To Go" thing, and I probably looked like some obsessive/compulsive freak standing there at the bar, pulling on my shirt, making sure it was covering the gun. I felt like everyone was staring at me and that certainly someone had "made" me. Fortunately, nobody was the wiser. :phew:

(edit): Given all the gadgetry and doodads people strap to their belts these days, you could probably open carry and nobody would notice, either.

It's like a teenage girl who wears a miniskirt. At 1st she feels paranoid everyone is looking at her. Same as a gun. You think everyone can see it. We can! jk I suggest wearing all the time.

Uh, in her case, they probably are!

Carried at all morning while car shopping with the girlfriend. Her step-dad was there with us (Who carries as well) and he didn't even realize I was carrying until I told him. Guess I'm doing something right

It's a great feeling, that's for sure.

Speaking about the girl in the miniskirt being self-conscious about people watching her at first...

+1

It's when that self-consciousness wears off that I worry about, when they learn to like and crave the attention they get by giving people the age-old "T&A" show.

If I ever have a daughter, a miniskirt is one of many things she won't be wearing when she leaves my house to go anywhere. Because it's not just boys at school that will be checking her out; it'll likely be any post-puberty male within sight, including your friendly, neighborhood sex offenders. :50cal:

(Hopefully I will have taught her to respect herself so that she's the one who refuses to dress like a tramp.)

As for being self-conscious about CCW, I think it definitely wears off after a while, and then the chore is to not just "forget" that your armed and become complacent about awareness (of threats as well as printing issues). What a huge responsibility, and how grateful I am to shoulder it! :patriot:

This thread brings to mind another way to ensure you're not spotted carrying.

If you want to be absolutely sure no one will see your pistol, get yourself an 18-year-old hottie in a mini-skirt to walk with you.

No one will be looking for a gun on your waist.

Hate to say it, but if they don't want people looking, they wouldn't wear a miniskirt.

Hmmm...

Sorry amigo. This being my first day on the board, I'd really like to get along well here and all, but...

Pictures of my wife would be for my eyes only.

Pictures of any other gal on my computer would get me into even MORE trouble.

Any normal guy's going to notice a cute gal; miniskirt of no. Taking pictures, however...

;)
