View Full Version : Oakland County CPL processing time
It took 42 days to get my first CPL back in 2001. I let that one expire in 2004 and just today applied for another one. Has Oakland County shortened the turnaround time in the 6 years since I got my first one?

IIRC, mine took about 4 weeks earlier this year.

I think mine was around 3 weeks, something like that, last oct. They quoted a longer timeframe, probably to be conservative. Wasn't bad at all, I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the replies. I asked because I've gotten 3 different answers from 3 different sources...OCSD web site says 2-3 MONTHS, Clerk's office said 3 or 4 weeks when I turned in my paperwork at the courthouse, and the OCSD fingerprinting tech said "a couple of months".
Got it in the mail today...3 weeks to the day! Woohoo!!!
same here took about 3 weeks

Just took in application...took about 15 minutes with the clerks office and about another 15 for the fingerprints....FWIW I have heard from some people that the wait time for prints could be as much as a few hours.
I applied 12/23/10 for my renewal and was told wait might be 6 to 8 weeks.
Got my new one in 4 weeks flat, not to bad.

By law the whole state only has 90 days... now that the rush is over turn-around-times seem to be down over most of the state... I just had to re-new mine in Saginaw County & it took 15 days total to get it in my mail-box... I didn't even have to take new finger prints.
