Hey everyone, I am very new to HK's, having never shot one before yesterday. I bought a used P2000sk v3 in .40, gun seems nice and I was aching to shoot it. Well, I got out to the range this past weekend.
Just about every single spent casing came flying my way, either straight back or bouncing off of the lane dividers. I had red marks on my arms, neck, chest, and forehead (with some burns still visible). I HATED shooting it. I've fired probably around 20 semi-autos, no HK's, and I've never had this problem.
I was hoping it needed break-in or the extractor needed adjusting. It may also be the way I hold the gun. There is so little info on this, all I found similar to this was an owner who didn't properly seat the guide rod assembly when putting the gun back together:

From what I can tell there is only one way to install the guide rod. If it weren't installed right, then the slide release lever wouldn't go back on. The manual mentions pushing forward on the guide rod with your thumb while reassembling onto the frame, but... uhh... my thumb can't stay there obviously.
Anyone else experience this? I used Blazer Brass and WWB, and three different magazines. Thanks in advance.
