magtatanong lang po mga brod.
meron po ba nabibiling magwell (like S&A) for hi-cap? mostly kasi pang single-stack lang available eh.
picture below shows the type of magwell i need for my hi-cap. ganyan sana yung gusto ko ikabit sa Hi-Cap ko.

some BOGs brothers adviced me to get DP Magwell pero pang carry purpose kasi - for quick change mag.

Yeah. Available but quite expensive. An option would be to have a gunsmith fabricate it. Cheaper.

5-6K?? presyo na ng armscor slide yan ah

go to STARFIRE, they have a good gunsmith there that can make one for your Hi-Cap at reasonable price

I saw this one from other forum. Looks like a well made (fabricated) S&A magwell for Hi-Cap.

Is Col Bayang's mag well fixed or removable in case you want to turn your pistol back to original?

Here's a pic of my S&A magwell.

I'll go with what others suggest, just get a gunsmith to fabricate a magwell for you.

salamat sa mga replies nyo mga brod. I guess I will pay a visit to the good Col. Bayang.
He told me to bring the image (or design) of the magwell I need and they will make one for me.

Really surprise how accommodating he is.

Mind you guys, I have never seen or met this Col. Bayang but he's giving me an impression that he is a down to earth person.

My next worry would be the 'price' hehehehe :animlol: :animlol:

yeah i think its fixed and there some trimming in the frame to fit the S&A like magwell.

i dont like the fixed-type magwell style of col. bayang. The frame is altered and you dont have the choice to re-configure the grip to it's "stock" form should you wish (ideal for carry). I like the attached-type like limcat or dawson. TP sells copies of attachable/detachable limcat and dawson copies. I guess he sells it for 3.5k for aluminum while 4.5k for the stainless during the last gunshow.

good day

update on s&a like magwell

the good colonel informed me that he made a better version of the s&a like magwell for my piece because this one does not need to trim or cut the frame to fit in, and the pin will go through the magwell, the frame and the main spring housing.

so its a good news for me, considering that it will not alter my frame.

bros, this may be a stupid question, i dunno, but why do u still need a magwell for a hicap? di ba yung magazine eh conical yung shape, and yung opening is malapad? so dapat madali na lang ipasok?

glockiz
09-16-2007, 06:34
IMHO, the purpose is to enhance faster reload, even without looking at the point of entry of the magazine, you can easily place the mag.

glokiz, is right. The bigger the opening the faster it is to insert the mag. Magwells for open pistols are even bigger. :)

as promise:
my cal. 40 with S&A like magwell fabricated by col. bayang. it may be better version of s&a because it doesnt need trimming of the frame.

The magwell guides the mag in when you're inserting it in a hurry. But, depending on design, you might have to tweak your existing base pads to fit. ;)
