I learned today that LaserMax has a unit for the G36 too. Three questions: (1) How are the LaserMax recoil spring/rod assembly units in general? (2) Can the folks who have one on their G36s tell us if they are satisfied? (3) Must one buy one direct from manufacturer at c.$340, or are there less expensive suppliers? nhjsg 09-18-2007, 19:40 I have lasermax in both my G17 and G36. I've found that the alignment is just fine on both, but the unit in my G36 has always been a bit dimmer than the G17, even with fresh batteries (I put it down to production variances). Both show up indoors (even in daytime) no problem, outdoors dusk and dark, just fine. Daytime...not so much. If you can try a lasermax equipped gun, make sure you like the flickering spot. I have an external laser on my KelTec P32, and it is a steady beam. I like both, but some folks don't. I found no difference in performance - no ejection or cycling issues. Installation is a 10 minute job, if you really take your time. As far as best price: shop around. I bought mine from glockoutlet.com for $284 each (shipping included). They had fast turnaround when I bought in Oct, 2006, but the web site right now shows "down for maintenance" so I don't know their current price. I know many argue that lasers don't replace range time, but for me I found that I really made improvements in dry fire practice because the laser really makes it clear just how steady (or unsteady, as I was) your trigger finger really is. If you can afford it, its a very useful tool. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
