got them installed.... for 35 dollars at a Gander Mountain. That seems steep to me? If I would have known it was going to cost that much, I would have just bought the tool to install them on my 2 glocks and my brothers glock. oh well. they look much brighter now that they are on my gun, i am much happier.

$35 to install night sights????????????
Let's see, 10min/hr x 35 = 6 x 35 = $210/hr labor. I need a job like that.
Didn't you ask first?
Not bustin' on ya sport, but you got took!

took the sight off with my fingers, the "gunsmith" obviously didnt use loctite. what size hex is that? i dont wanna have to order the tool and wait. thanks.
It's 3/16". But not just any nutdriver will work. Because of the round circular cut in most GLOCK slides, you'll need one with a thin wall, kinda like a thin-wall socket. I use a Craftsman 3/16" nutdriver that I cut down to where the OD of the socket part is the same as the OD of the shaft. You could sand it down on a belt sander, if you have access to one. Be careful not to torque it too much or the screw will break. I use thumb and forefinger on the smooth portion of the handle only.
If you can find a hex (allen) socket head bolt with a 3/16" recess for the allen wrench, you can grind that down on the OD and make it work. That's how GLOCK factory tools were??? made. You'll also need to grind away any lead-in on the socket to grab the thin screw head.
Some have been successful with small needle-nose pliers.
Be careful. If you're scared to try it, you can mail me your slide and sight and $5 (return Priority Mail) and I'll install it correctly.
And I guarantee it won't come loose!

Where are you located? If you have a Bass Pro Shops nearby you can pick up a 3/16" Nut drive for Glock Front Sight made by HiViz for $8.
