Saw the CBS Evening News a while ago and there was a segment that reported weapons supposed to be supplied to the Iraqi Security Forces are missing, among them thousands of Glock 17s. A private contractor has been assigned to procure the weapons. What the authorities are fearing is that they may have been sold to the insurgents. The DoD, according to the report is conducting a massive investigation.

If these allegations are true, same thing is happening in Iraq and in the Philippines. Pity the foot soldier. They may end up getting shot with the same weapons that were supposed to be supplied to their allies.

Always happens in any conflict. COnsidered as materiel loss in combat. Part of the fog of war. Tax payer takes the loss.

Actually, it's probable that there's just no paperwork trail for the guns.

Typical in that part of the world.

I'm not surprised. They couldn't even account for the weapons of the Iraqi army after the invasion. A lot of these eventually found their way into the hands of the insurgents.

It was deliberate. Thousands of insurgents will accidentally shoot themselves to death while looking for the safety.
