I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Mech-Tech Carbine Conversion Unit? I was thinking about getting one for my G20 but wanted to learn about them first.

I have the .45(unfortunately not the glock .45) It shoots ok but is rather heavy. Accuracy is ok at 100 yards about 3-4 inch 5 shot group. Now mine is a number of years old, think i go it in 1999.
I hear the newer ones are more accurate....but they are still rather heavy.

Its really a novelty item. Ive shot them a fair amount of times. They work good, fun to shoot, but really your carbine should be totally separate from your pistol. The .223 round is a FAR better round. .223 is way too expensive now though. If you want a carbine, get a gun that shoots 5.45x39. Excellent round, very accurate(3000 fps), fun to shoot and is the CHEAPEST ammo to be shooting now. It only costs 210 dollars for 2160 rounds! So like I said, your carbine should be totally separate than your pistol.
