Has anyone tried some type of paint on stuff that will help faded, older night sights?

I would not use it for a ccw piece just becouse [most] glow in the dark paint requres ultra-violet light to charge and make it glow. Night sites are made of Tritium (SP) making them glow in the dark.

Now if you are in the habit of carring around a black light so you can charge up your sights before a SD sitation, then it would work great ;)

Thanks. It would definitely slow me down to have to shine a light on the sights first :)

I have a feeling that Tritium can't be "painted" on. Speaking of which, do you know of a good brand of after market Tritium sights, other than Mepro ?

Might be a strange question but have you tried cleaning your sights with alcohol. Make sure you get off any of the old dried gun oil. I have seen night sites so caked on with dried oil and dirty that they looked very very dim

I will give that a try. Never thought of that, but I will do the cleaning. Now that I think about it, although I have cleaned everything else, I have never cleaned the sights.
