The gun the Russkies call the "Dashika", DShK, developed before World War II and now replaced by the NSV, also in 12.7mm x 108. The Americans call it the .51 caliber during the Vietnam War. According to a Knob Creek account (ChowChow, have you been there? Machine guns galore!), it was louder than a Browning .50 cal. What they fired was Chinese-made, formerly serving on top of an Iraqi tank in 1991, and an actual Vietnam veteran.:)
There's a bigger one, the 14.5mm KPVT, standard turret machinegun of Russian BTR APCs.

Made in 1938 lang pala ito. I remember these were used by Afghan Mujahids shooting down Russian choppers in the 80s.
