Opened today in Hattiesburg. They have some nice stuff but are way outta line on gun and ammo prices. WWB 9mm was over $22. Glock 17, 19, 26, 23 are running for 649.00. The .45 was priced at 749.00. They had a nice selection of safes, small and large. More holsters than anyother store I've seen but still limited selection. Had the usual uncle mikes and some safari land as well.

Sounds about right. They opened a new store with their recent gouging prices. Great way to advertise as being new to the area.

They may keep going though. Everytime I'm there there are people willing to pay the prices so let it happen I guess.

They have a nice jacket there that is very similar to a 5.11 vest but has removable sleeves that I really want. But they want $100 for it. I'd pay $50 and get two but $100 is too steep for what it is.

They lost that sale and a lot of others from me.

Oh, they had a used Springer EMP there they just got in for 1249 if anybody is interested.

Kimbers went up 200+ also.
K. I'm done for now.

I saw some used, overpriced semi-autos.

If you go back, check prices on:

Primers (per 1k)
H355 powder (per lb)

Thanks!

I stopped in last night. The pricing on pistols was very erratic. Most new pistols seemed overpriced. They have a few used guns. Some had good prices. For instance, they had several used P225's, in good shape, for under $350. On other hand, a used S&W 4006, with night sites, was marked at $579. I could easily find that pistol for $450. There did not seem to be much rhyme or reason in their pricing. Nice selection of clothing, though.

I am new to this state and have just, in the last few days, "found" your state site. But, from what little I have been able to figure out about the Hattiesburg area, Gander seems to have the best selection is the city. By no means a great selection but not bad for this type store.

They have a nice selection, but their prices are laughably ridiculous.

Before I buy guns in Hattiesburg, I drive down to Dad's Super Pawn in Gulfport. They have the best selection in this area, and their prices are very competitive. I've found several guns down there for over $100.00 less than what dealers in the Burg are charging, plus they give you a lifetime guarantee on their new guns, in addition to the manufacturer's warranty. Can't beat that with a stick.

Alot of great deals can be had on Gun Broker. They have a list showing the FFL holders that will do a transfer.

Doubleclaw,
Would you mind telling me where Dad's super pawn shop is. I have checked prices at different Hattiesburg stores and have also found their prices to be a bit on the high side as well. Last purchase I made was in Jackson and it was my G36. Thanks

flagaman,

Sure! Just drive straight down hwy 49 to Gulfport. 49 turns into 25th Avenue once you reach Gulfport proper. Go past the Walmart shopping center on the left, and keep going south. Keep travelling south on 49/25th Ave until you see the Coca Cola Bottling Company on your right, it's an older building, but you can't miss it. There'll be a traffic light immediately ahead(Can't remember the name of that cross street), go straight through that and keep looking to the right until you see Dad's on the right hand side of the road. It's a blue and white metal building set back some from the street, with large red letters on the front proclaiming the name.

That should get you there OK. It's a pretty straightforward trip, with no hiccups despite my crappy directions.

I worked there briefly. That place will rape you BLIND. They have their Springfield Loaded priced at $1000. I bought it earlier today for just over $700. Their Springfield Loaded Champion was quoted at $1300. The gunshop I was at today had it for just under $800.

And don't even get me started on ammunition.

Volsbear, what gun shop did you use?

MegaSports in Plainfield, IL. They were marked at a higher price but since I'm cheap I scoured the internet for better prices which they then came pretty close to matching.

Doubleclaw,
Thanks for the directions! Will give 'em a look next time I'm down that way.
