Filipino history reenactors. Uso na pala sa atin. Notice something in pic not authentic of the time? M14 ang gamit ng guardia. Baka hiram ito sa ROTC armory.

This is great but shouldn't they pay real attention to detail and try to be as authentic as possible ?

Hahaha, at least walang 20 rd mag ang nakakabit sa mga M 14 na mga yan.

I'm thinking that since the picture was taken at UP the young "soldiers" at attention are members of the ROTC "Rayadillo" batallion. During my day, one batallion of the CMT Corps wore these revolution-inspired uniforms. The other batallions wore regulation OD's with distinguising headgear (red beret for the battery battalion, etc.) The entire corps, however, used M14's for parades and exhibitions. Baka yung mga nasa gitna lang ang reenactors.

Those are not real M14s, but dummy rifles used for drills. Look closely at the stock. Reminds me of our old high school CAT wooden Garand rifles - "firewood". The slings, on the other hand, were genuine leather GI.

It would have been better if they used the Springfields I saw in UP some years ago, which the ROTC uses for the color guard.

Reminds me of a photo of some Filipino officers in Aguinaldo's army. Their pose looked rather ridiculous, that somebody scrawled "?!" after the caption "Filipino Officers".
