What other alternatives to checkering for the front strap and the backstrap/main spring housing can be done on a 1911?

It should be comfortable to hold, functional, yet aesthetically pleasing, and can be done by local gunsmiths, and should blend with front/rear cocking serrations on the slide.

Suggestions please.

Wilson makes a checkered front strap wraparound you can put on yourself. It's around ten bucks.

anay finish? :) wala ako maisip
I like skateboard tape as well kaso masakit sa mata to some people

30lpi checkering works great looks good , di masakit sa kamay di tulad ng 20lpi but might damage clothing

Ganito sana kung may gumagawa dito sa atin, makapit sa kamay pero hindi daw sa tela.

Some use strippling as an alternative to checkering. That golfball texture is quite expensive, I heard.

I use the 3M tape designed for bathtubs. Sandpaper-finish tapes usually 'sheds' grits of tiny particles (sand?) that may potentially scratch the finish.

This 3M bathtub tape seems very similar to the stippling Novak makes on their Hi-Powers. What I like about it is it's transparent; and it takes the color of the frame. So it doesn't matter if the frame is black, stainless, hard chrome, etc.; it'll always look good. I've had my reservations before on stick-on tapes on handguns, but this one is definitely an alternative for me.

Check it out: it's around 700 bucks a roll at any ACE hardware.

Mtho, onga eh...miss ko na para ko. Come to think of it, I had no business selling that gun...sobrang mura pa benta ko
Nagtanong ako sa TwinPines sa galleria kung may Para frame kit, wala daw eh. Come to think of it, if same price sila ng STi, siyempre wala nang bibili ng Para. Baka Open nalang nga! Hinihintay ko si Doc bumalik ng shooting para may matatanungan ako hehehe!!
