Any difference between Brown Bear and Wolf Ammunition 45 ACP 230 Grain Full Metal Jacket Berdan Primed Steel Cased? Are the primers too hard for the G30 or G21? Any problems?

I had five misfires out of one box of Wolf ammo. Luckily they gave me a refund, as I found it to be unreliable and incredibly dirty.

Shot at least 500 rounds of Wolf 45ACP 230 grain through my G30. It is dirtier than high-dollar ammo. Georgia Arms (http://www.georgia-arms.com) , I like the 185 grain +P gold dot. About $140 for 500 delivered to your door. ;c ;c

I'm probably on my 50th box of Wolf 45ACP. No misfeeds, failures to fire or other problems. It's just a little "stinky" for me, but at the price it can't be beat.

I also use Wolf ammo. About 2000 rounds thru my G21 so far, no failures at all.. Just clean your baby when you are done. Can't beat the price. 500 Rnds for $78 delivered to my door. www.ammodirect.com

I have shot over 3K rounds through my Glock 30 without any problem at all. I find they are no dirtier that Cor Bon or Speer. I know some people that are reloading these also and are not having any problems with the reloads. Only difference being carbide dies in the press.

Over teh last year I have shot over 4000 rounds of WOlf .45 ammo out of my Glock 30. This includes 800-rounds in 2 days during a pistol course and 650-rounds in another 2-day course. In both cases I did not have time to clean my pistol and had no malfunction whatsoever. In fact, I just bought another 1000 rounds last weekend for a course I am planning on attending next month.

My G21 seem to have no problems with it either. I have also put 300 rounds of WOlf ammo through my Glock 27, and about 1500 rounds through my Glock 26 & 19 without a single problem.

Hope this helps.

I bought a thousand rounds of it this spring. Went through my 21 as well as anything else, without a hitch. It is dirtier and smells different...

No matter what you do, do not ever use Wolf or any lacquer-coated ammo in an AR-15! A common problem is for you to shoot some rounds through the gun, set the gun down for whatever reason, and then pick it back up and find that a case is lacquered in the chamber.

I've seen this on an Olympic Arms, on a preban Bushmaster, and on one parts gun.

Wolf .223 is fine for those AK-47 .223's; in one case the lacquer may have actually improved the chamber a bit. :) But, if you value your AR, keep Wolf away from it!

Or Ruger Mini-14s either.

I can't speak to that, but I can say that the Ruger AC-556 doesn't seem to mind. Perhaps it's because the automatic fire spits the cases out before the lacquer even gets a chance to heat up and melt/drip into the chamber... ;d Then again, I've heard that Wolf causes problems with the M-16 in auto.

Who knows? I just don't trust Wolf for anything beyond a beater SKS or for some AK parts gun. :)

The reason why that ammo is cheap is because:

steel case
rough and unpolished cases
made outside of the US

What do you think you're getting?

If you REALLY want to save $, reload and your accuracy will be improved.

Wolf works just fine for me. I have a box of 50 .45 ACP at home right now.
