Rubber on a gun that is going to contact your skin....sand on a game gun.

I like the sand, game gun or carry. I have to admit to never trying the rubber though. Maybe some day.

I use the sand on my duty G21 and the rubber on my bug/off-duty G30. The sand will rub clothes holes in clothes when concealed and can be rough on skin. The rubber takes some getting used to against the skin but at least it isnt wearing your skin raw.

Exactly the same here.

I have both at the same time. I use rubber on the sides because the sides of the grip make contact with the holster. I don't want sand breaking off and getting down in the holster. I use sand on the finger grooves and the rear of the grip. I'll post a pic if anybody cares. Otherwise, I'm too lazy.
i prefer the rubber:thumbsup: :wavey:

I've never used sand. I understand it can also embed itself into the surface of your holster and scratch up your slide as you pull the gun in and out.....
Rubber...or Agrip.

I see where some have said that, although it's never happened to me.;)

Ditto!
Sand is great for competition but not the greatest when it comes to carrying concelead (due to discomfort). Overall the sand does give the best grip.

It has happened to me....I have a G34 with a slide that appears to have been kicked down the street.
I have NEVER had these problems with rubber grips. I am only "attached" to one Glock....I just leave rubber on that one.

Rubber, but save your money and use a bike innertube. I use a mountain bike tube and it fits like a glove. Plus, one tube will keep you in 'socks' for years. Mine works great.

Sand d/n last is always to thin........
As for "saving money" forget about "Kits", can get virtually the same stuff as both are made by 3M, from any good specialty hardware store as 3M's trade name, "Safety Walk" Tape.
Syn rubber type is same texture in gray or black for .69 cents per foot in 1" width, also comes in 2" & 4" widths, likewise for the sand-grit type. Adhesive is excl. and easy to remove assuming proper surface prep so can try both types if desired to get the grip you like best.
FWIW, the Syn Rubber lasted 3+ years on a G34 had it on. Was still good and grippy when removed even tho' worn down from use--went from gray to black for higher/more coverage, etc.
Even use it on AR pistol grips and El Cheapo Glock OEM mag loaders, etc. Good to have around in Range Bag too.......
