I've had my G36 for about a month now and while its accurate and conceals great for me, the feed problems are getting pretty old. The first time i shot it i'd have about 1 out of every 10 rounds FTE. The was using WWB and Remington UMC ballpoints. It seemed like they were just getting hung up on the little nub at the top front of the mag. I ground it down a bit and now all ballpoints feed/eject perfectly. The only issue is now with JHP's the first 2 or 3 rounds of a full mag will hang up and not chamber right. It seems the flat front of the rounds get stuck against the feed ramp.
Anyways, sorry for the long rant but its getting kinda old with this thing. Anyone have any suggestions to help it out? or wanna trade for an XD? ;)
yuck thats not what I wanted to hear. Ive been thinking about getting a 36..... are you still having the same problems?
You are not alone. I had my G36 since 2000("D"series). For years i've been having problems with hollowpoints. It was getting hung-up on the feeding ramp because of the flat tip. I've shot ball point ammos with no problems(FTF or FTE). After all these years, i finally sent my G36 to Glock. I haven't got it back yet and/or an update from Glock. BTW. another member here had a problem with FTE on a G36, and it was because he had a wrong ejector in his. I don't know how that happened.

Yea i thought the later ones had all this taken care off but mine was only made back in June. Definitely sucks to spend $500 on my first pistol and get all this crap.

You should call Glock's customer service department and let them take care of the problem. I would think they would replace the gun for you or fix it and make it right.

I purchased mine back in July as well and have put about 500rds through it so far. I haven't had any issues at all and have run the following ammo through it.
Speer Lawman
Remington UMC
Corbon JHP+P 165gr
Federal EFMJ+P
I haven't had any feed issues at all.
I'd definitely recommend getting ahold of Glock customer service.

I also bought one recently and mine has not had a problem feeding anything. Granted I only have 300 rounds through it but it has been regular ball and various hollow points. If I were you I'd send it to Glock before giving up on it.
I've been shooting my G36 for 22 months now, with both factory hollow points for carry (Speer Gold Dots) and reloads using plated round nose or flat point bullets. The 36 feeds reliably with any ammunition that I have used. Have you checked the cartridge OAL of your ammo? Some commercial .45 hollow points are loaded to a length of only 1.15 inches, and I've been told that Glocks feed better when cartridge OAL is longer. My .45 230gr reloads are loaded to an OAL of 1.25" or 1.30" and always feed reliably.

Some of them have the problem fixed with just a change of the recoil spring even standard factory replacement one not a didn't weight spring. Don't know if they wear that much or if a few are that bad and the G36 is touchy about the recoil spring.
Though I've had no problems shooting HPs thru my G36, I recently experienced Hornady & Corbon HP FTF during manual loading (racking the slide after mag insertion). It doesn't occur if I've locked the slide back, inserted the loaded mag then released the slide manualy or by pressing the slide lock/release. BTW, I've not had any problem with FMJ.
So I bought two new mags and the same occurred (with and without +0 & +1 extensions).
I'll try Win & Rem HPs tonight- and measure cartridge OAL of all 4 mfr & compare...

You have to rake the slide very fast if you are cycling by hand. If you are the least bit slow about it the round will hang.
I had the same problem with a glock 19. I sent it back to Glock and they fixed it. Definitly don't live with it.

I am with you. I am on my second G36. The first one, I coaxed my dealer into taking it back because of all of the feed problems.
A year later, after reading on this forum about all of the good luck that people were having with their G36, I convinced myself that it was simply a bad gun that I had bought, so I ORDERED a new model. Same deal. No difference. JAMM-O-MATIC. It is sitting in my safe because I cannot rely on it. Carrying my trusty Sig P225 every day, now. I have tried every ammo known to god, and it doesn't make a difference. I refuse to send it back to Glock. The dealer is about to get this back in on trade.
God, I wish they would work for me. I REALLY love the G36 otherwise.
I wish it had the reliability of my G19.
