View Full Version : Going to FS..
Any last minute suggestions? I am going to 4 day defensive handgun.
I know the days will be long, but any good restaurants, gun stores, etc. we should see?

You will not get to go out for lunch while at Front Sight so bring lunch, drinks and snacks with you. I stayed at the Best Western for the 3rd day since that is your longest day because of the night shoot. I ate at the sport's bar there so someone else may be able to fill you in on restaurants around the area. As for gun stores, I usually go to Discount Firearms or American Shooters Supply in Las Vegas. If you need more ammo, there is a Walmart in Pahrump (they are cheaper than the gun stores). I'm going to continue monitoring this thread incase you have more questions.
Bring a cooler/ice chest with you. Pack lunch, snacks and water/sports drinks.
1000 rounds of ammo will cover you for a 4 day handgun course.
Bring a extra batteries for your flashlight for the night shoot.
Don't forget your hat, jacket (gets cold in the desert at night), eyes & ears protection.
Use sunscreen.
All the times I've been there, I stayed in Vegas and drove there. So, I don't know what's good in Pahrump.
Enjoy your time there and learn. It's a fun experience.
Thanks for the tips guys. As a relative noob to firearms I think FS will help me with my skills a lot. I hope to get out to the rifle course next year.

Forgot to post, don't forget to bring a concealment garment since you start using it the 3rd day and all day on the 4th day.

The Saddle west was ahole and I would not stay there again. I do hope to post afull report soon when I get the chance in the training area on Gt.

I am going to FS next month for the 4 day handgun course. Can you or anyone give me a day by day activities list? Should I bring my knee/elbow pads? Was there a gun handling test on the last day?
