View Full Version : What do you have?
I have a parkerized Mark VII in 44mag with 6 inch barrel. I bought it new many many moons ago.
What do you have?
Nothing...
too expensive and i'm cheap:O)
Got me a older MKI, ser# 323XX. Have had for a long time and it has taken it's share of deer, moose, bear, and other critters, from the wilds of Maine to the swamps of Florida.
It's still going strong.
Brushed chrome 50AE.

Here it is, doing what it does best. The muzzle flash is just epic on these things.

That 2 tone looks really nice. Shouldn't you have a couple springs for that in 357mag.

Thanks guys...I've made some changes since that pic (target sight on the 357 barrel for example). I plan on sending out a couple of magazines to finished like the 50AE in the picture (brushed body with a black base). I also will be sending the 357 bolt out to be hard chromed as well as the slide release lever.
RWBlue...MR sells the same recoil spring assembly for all MKXIX calibers. You may be thinking of the tune-up kits. They have different magazine springs...

Interesting, if I remember correctly, in the MK 1 and Mark VII conversions had springs in the conversion kits.
If the recoil spring is the same, the gas port size has to be different?

Your memory is correct, they did/do.
The barrel port might well be larger. I've never had cause to look.

That looks more like the Satin Nickel finish. I once had a Mark I in Bright Nickel and it could be used as a mirror. Looks nice but it's impossible to keep off fingerprints..

Nice!
What kind of rear sight is that? I need to replace mine in my Mark I. It's worn out and is very loose.
Noah, May I please ask,why the change in the safety and slide lock ??

It's the Millett adjustable. It's available on Magnum Research's website.

Simply because the new style is easier to operate with my thumb. I think that's why they were redesigned. I still have the old set too. Actually, I left the original safety lever on the right side since it's lower profile and I'm not left handed.

CK...
I've got a matte nickel .44 magazine, I'd trade you for a blue or matte chrome. I took it on a trade. let me know...
As Noah stated in his post #21, I have the Millett sights that were (are?) offered by MR. Mine are the orange front and white outline rear.
I installed these on my weapon shortly after I bought it some 15+ years ago and they are still going strong.
Right now I am thinking of installing some night sights for my simi-dark hunting. I wished that TRU-GLO offered their excellent TFO's for the DE. I have them on my hunting Glock 20 and they work very well.

Ah ok, thanks. I'm in desperate need for some functioning rear sights.
The factory sight has worked itself loose, and requires repair by a gunsmith, but I think an aftermarket, more versatile replacement would be more worth it.

VERY nice! I paid less than a grand for mine, even though mine is just a regular Mark I, unlike your beautiful specimen.
To be exact, I paid $600. I think I stole it.
