I am interested in shooting in IDPA matches in east central Ohio. So far the only gun club I have found to have IDPA matches in my area is Greenport Tactical Assoc. near Canton, OH. Are there any members here who have shot in these matches or are members of GTA? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I shot the GTA 3 gun this past year. Very nice and organized match.

The local outdoor IDPA season is over. It will get going again in March/April. Able to shoot a match each Sunday within a one hour drive of Youngstown. Not sure how far that would be for you. Check into Mingo junction, Lisbon and the Youngstown matches. Hancock over in WV puts on a very nice match as well.

Heard good things about Ashland, but have not made it there yet.

I currently live in Harrison County (Tappan Lake region). I know the founder fo the START facility near Mingo Junction. He is a former SEAL who has trained my SRT team at work. I am not that far from any of the places you mention. Thanks for your help.

Beallsville Sportsmans Club near Beallsville Ohio will have an IDPA match this Sunday, Dec 2. Starts at 10 AM and usually done around 1 or 2. Pretty good place for your first match. :)

I also shoot at START, Fort Harmar near Marietta and Hancock County near Weirton WV. They will start up in March or April. Beallsville shoots year around unless there is too much ice to get to the range.

Most folks in Ohio drive up to 2 hours for a local match.
