View Full Version : LULA / UpLULA
Got both loaders in today from eguns.com -- Pengar Enterprises, Inc. $22 for the rifle and $27 for the pistol magazine loader. I had used the rifle loader of a friend before. A shooter at the Pensacola GSSF Balistic Challenge mentioned the new UpLULA. The pistol loader is just GREAT, Glock 17,23,30, 37 and Colt 7 & 8 rounders are smoothly filled. Loading the Glocks is the easiest. A great gift for Christmas.

Very different system from the ones I've seen.
I always see these (http://www.hksspeedloaders.com/MagloaderPage.html) in use and they seem to work very well. Might have to try one or the other, although the callus on my thumb is built up quite nicely and I don't have any more blisters from rapid reloads. :)

The UpLULA impressed me. Not much impresses me any more.
It's on my very short gift list this year.

Well, there's another expense to rack up. I guess I'll add that to the list for the wife.
That gadget is worth its weight in dope if you have weak hands or arthritis; or, like me, are just getting old.
It is an ingenious design that has worked, so far, with every magazine type I've tried it on.
That HKS thing is a cheap plastic abortion, IMO. The UPLULA is made out of some sort of polymer, as opposed to brittle polystyrene like the HKS.

Those loaders are a God send for him.
+1 on the UpLULA, especially if you're loading a lot of mags.
I kind of liked the Glock loaders that come with each gun but the UpLULA is a superiour product. I've had mine for a few months now and they only down side is you can blast a whole lot more ammo at the range in one hour. :)
I switch hands from the picture that gdixon posted. UpLULA recommends that you use your right hand to operate the UpLULA but since I'm right handed I find it much easier to use with my left hand. This is because it is easier and quicker to pickup and load the cartridges with my right hand. I guess it comes down to the whole gross vs. fine motor movement thing. Actually I can operate the UpLULA well with both hands but for cartridge loading my right hand has better dexterity. So for all you righties out there, give it a shot and see if it doesn't work a little better.
IIRC, the UpLULA doesn't work with just about all 22lr magazine and I think it may not work with the G36 mag. Please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I also hold the uplula in my left hand. Per gdixon's pic post, I hold the uplula rotated 90 degrees CCW from what is shown and load the rounds with my right hand.
Doesn't work with 22lr's. Don't know about G36.
Doesn't work smoothly with my G36 mags but not bad.
Chris
Works with the G36 mags but not smoothly. Don't know why. Still works OK.

Does the loader work well with the short 26/27 magazines? Also, I guess it would work with my magazines that have extensions on them, as the HKS loader will not handle these at all.?
Thanks.
Workw great for both,
Chris

The UpLULA works 100% perfectly with stock 26/27 magazines. That is, they are plenty long enough as-is to work with the UpLULA.

They do work well on almost all magazines.
Does NOT load properly:
Glock 6rd .45 SS (Single Stack) (Beak will not come out of mag.)
Glock .45 G.A.P. DS (Double Stack) (Beak will not come out of mag.)
S&W 7rd 9mm SS (Beak too wide, does not enter between lips)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- May not load few types of mags, and mags with less than 8.0mm between their lips.
- May not load the last round in few types of mags.
- Will load some other caliber rounds & mags., including some .380 (9mm short) rounds & mags
The UpLULA worked OK but not smooth on my
G36 mags. It worked perfectly on my GAP mags. Maybe we have a different production run on the reloader.

Chris
which GAP mags do you have? Just got a G38 and wondering if it will work for mine... as I'd really prefer to have it for all my mags, not just the G17 ones.
