View Full Version : What are the 36 problems alot have talked about?
I would like to know just what problems that people talk about having with the 36?
I have shot my 36 several hundred rounds since ive had it and shot every piece of junk ammo i could find and my good stuff and personal protection rounds and the darn 36 just keeps eating it with no problems. I even tried limp wristing and coulnt get that to make it malfuntion either the darn gun just keeps shooting.........hmmm what was i thinking it IS a GLOCK. maybe thats the reason.
would like to know what problems some folks have had.
its my carry peice now and my 19 and love both of them and trust them with my life.
I have failure to feed problems, but I had someone do some work on my barrel to fully support the round in the chamber. Big mistake. I have a new factoy barrel on the way. I hope this solves the problem because I really like the gun.

Taters, was that a magazine spring you replaced ? I put a new factory barrel back in mine and it works fine now.

Here are the problems I had with mine:
1. random malfunctions. Not a lot, about 1-2 per 1000rds. Not always the same type of jam. Some FTF, some FTE, ect.
2. Not accurate. I am a good pistol shot and own about 30 pistols. I shoot Bullseye and I know a gun that shoots and one that doesn't. Mine was not accurate. About 6" groups at 15 yards.
3. Too much recoil. A lot of snap to it for a .45acp.
4. Mag and frame pinched my finger in recoil hard.
5. Trigger finger got sore from trigger slap.
It is not that small either. I compared it to my SIG 220 and it was only a bit smaller. If you want a slim .45, I think a 1911 is still the way to go. A alloy frame Commander would do well.

I owned two of them during a 2 year period. My problems were mainly FTE's. One or two every couple of magazines. Both guns acted the same and they were manufactured two years apart. Called Glock. The Tech in the Glock service department indicated that it was a common problem with "cheap ammo" in the G36. He told me to use "service grade" ammo. OK. Whatever.
I went G27.

I have had my 1st 36 for a while now and just bought another one. Neither one has malfunctioned yet. I shot #1 in several IDPA matches ( I shoot what I carry) with some 185 JHP reloads that have choked nearly every gun I've ever tried them in, no problems.
