View Full Version : Maadi Egyptian AK Value
Title says it
Egyptian Maadi Ak-47
What would you guys value this rifle at? Surely a nice ak all around, except for the ugly thumbhole stock.
Its also marked MISR.
Heres a pic.
All input is appreciated.

I paid $325.00 for mine. It was done as a "battlefield pickup"
It gives it character!

That is a nice thumbhole stock version compared to the original plywood versions with the "exclusive" square grip hole. They were only good for firewood.

I got mine for $250, at a sheriff's auction of seized property (there were 75 firearms in the auction).
Judging by the grease in the barrel and action, I'd say it was unfired. It came with one 5-rnd magazine. It did have the crappy plywood thumbhole stock, which I replaced with an Advanced Technologies (USA made) Fiberforce "dragunov" style. I also installed Tapco (USA made) - trigger, disconnector, hammer, gas piston, & muzzle-brake (Tapco followers in all my mags too). But the best addition was the $20 Williams rear aperture sight. Unlike the original rear sight (which adjusts for elevation only), the Williams aperture has windage adjustments too. To get the proper windage adjustments with the original sights, I had to move the front sight way over to the left (it was almost touching the left side of the front sight protector). With the Williams peep, I was able to center the front sight and make the necessary windage adjustments with the rear. Accuracy really improved too.
