Recently purchased a new Sig Pro in .357 and dealers aren't stocking much in variety of SIG ammo. Is this because its a newer round or that it hasn't caught on yet? I think its a very snappy round that is fun to shoot. Any input?

When I bought my G32 two years ago, I thought that the limited availability of .357 SIG ammo was because it was a relatively new round. That was two and a half years ago, and locally I still can't find it stocked, except for one sporting goods store, and it is marked up the wazzoo... I guess it just hasn't caught on around here yet, like the .40 S&W did. I wish Wal-Mart would start carrying it. It is a popular round, and increasingly so. I enjoy my little hand cannon...

If you can't find it reasonably priced in your area, you might try buying it online. Try Natchez (http://www.natchezss.com) , they generally have good prices on ammo. Right now they have CCI .357 Sig 125gr FMJ's for $8.15 per box of 50. There are other online ammo suppliers as well, just ask around. ;j

It's hit or miss around here too.

Just complain tot he owner.

But I'd recommend ordering a case or two over the Internet from Georgia Arms, ammoman or the like.

Or better yet, just reload them on your end. Very easy once you've done it a bit. Got 2K just chillin in ammo cans!

Try Georgia Arms' .357 Sig "Canned Heat," at $149.95 for 1,000 rounds plus $12.95 shipping. It's packed into a reusable ammo can. Great stuff. I am just finishing my first can of it, and am about to start my second. See: http://www.georgia-arms.com/canned.htm#sig

Also, their "Shear Power Plus" is great defensive ammo: http://www.georgia-arms.com/power.htm

That's a good price. I just bought the same amount of rounds from Natchez for a total of $173.61, Blazer 125Gr,TMJ...that means Georgia Arms will be my next stop when these run out. Thanks for the tip.

Ok, now I'm really ticked off. Out of the 6 gun shop/ranges near me, my choices for premium JHP ammo in .357 Sig are next to nothing, and well overpriced to say the least. Some places carry target ammo and some don't carry that. I took Ken Lunde's advice and ordered a case from Georgia Arms for target stuff but I really hope some of these other companies get going with the .357 Sig round. It is a fun round to shoot not to mention my new Sig is chambered for it!

Rant off. Thank you, drive through.

Georgia Arms also makes "Shear Power Plus" new defensive ammo.

And mail order works for other types, such as Speer Gold Dots.

Have you tried asking a local store to order or stock some for you?
Yes, it will cost a bit more, but may not be unreasonable.
Stores need to make a profit, to keep their building running.

As a business owner I understand that. However $15.99 for a box of 20 Gold Dot .40 S&W is not even close to reasonable. I always try to give my local businesses my money but if their prices are exorbitant I will look elsewhere.

Yes, I certainly agree that's too high.

Last .357Sig ammo I bought from a local store (late last year) was $12.95 for a box of 50 Gold Dots.
And that wasn't reclassified ammo.
No; sorry; that's all gone now.

Order my cases of Gold Dots (100rnds @ 125gr 357sig GDHPs[new style, nickel brass, gold primers]) from CDNN, $219.00 a case. Although I haven't contacted them recently, I'm sure they have or can get some. CDNN (http://www.cdnninvestments.com)

The answer is reloading. Whenever I need 357 SIG ammo I sit down at the loading bench for an hour and crank out 250-300 rounds on my Dillon 550B. Right now I have 1000 rounds each of 357 SIG, 40 S&W loaded and ready to go. Cost is a fraction of factory loads so I practice as often as I can find time. My G23 and G33 fire everything I put through them.

I guess I need to invest in the equipment and start making my own rounds.

Can't find "the Speer Gold Dot Deal" at http://www.kieslersonline.com/, as you suggested. If you have the full URL, pls post it.

I'm going to fire up an email-bomb macro program and hit WalMart corporates mail server with a jillion emails requesting them to start stocking CCI Blazer 357 SIG cartridges..

Anyone know of a mail server I can relay from??

If I get caught, then I would simply loose my cable internet access, so it's imortant I relay from a few servers to mask my IP address..
