hey fellas im in the market for a new glock and im trying to decide between the G22 & G37... i'd like to have the 37 but the cost of ammo is the biggest reason that i wouldnt.... i dont reload yet so i have to buy is the cost really that much more than .40s&w .. i know its about on par with .45acp
p.s. i live in ca so the argument about mag capacity doesnt really come into play for me... its gonna be for fun and proally a new bedside weapon
thx in advance
Just order ammo online, the cost is not that much higher by the case.

I second that. Bought my ammo by the case, and the G-37 has an excellent bedside manner...especially when sporting a tactical light underneath!

if you can only get ten then IMO the bullets need to be as big as possible or the gun as small as possible
I really like my G37
The 37 is one of the best .45s around and like others said you can save on ammo if you plan. Order ammo by the case or reload and its cheap. Save your brass if you ever plan on reloading.
Order online.
Currently, Sportsman's Guide has Speer Lawman 185gr TMJ 50rnds for $16.47 ($15.65 if you are a buyer's club member).
Reloading isn't any cheaper, by the way.
Buy a G37 because you like it. ACP is always going to be cheaper than GAP.
It'll be maybe $150 a year more for what I shoot, box (50) every couple of weeks. Or $3 a week. I spend $20 a week on coffee.
If you like the gun, especially if its for protection like mine, it's relative to the gain you get from shooting a great gun. Not much $$ in my book for what I get. Some people spend $1800 on a Wilson or something like that before it's even out of the box.

revisiting this thread - you are considering between a G22 and G37, and live in California with a 10 round mag limit
are you also considering the compact versions (G23 vs G38)?
The G38 gives up very little to the G37 and is arguably the best of the three GAP Glocks. I dont have one yet, but soon.

How did you come by that erroneous opinion?
I was thinking the same thing. My rough calculations show that I'm paying less for my GAP ammo than I would with factory ACP ammo.

.
THat is a rather tall statement, unless you are able to find .45 Gap ammo for about $5.50/box of 50 in new ammo somewhere, which is doubtful....

I think what Tampico means is that once a person gets into reloading, and stays with it for several years - 99% will eventually get sucked into the chase for more efficient, specialized, higher quality and expensive equipment. The list never ends and it becomes an expensive hobby unto itself. Very few have reloaded for several years or more consistently and still only have the bare minimum equipment.
Quiet,
Sportsman Guide list their Speer 185gr GAP ammo @$20 for 50, not $16. Even so, I love the GAP and anyone who has shot my G38 seems to be impressed with it as well.

my local sportsmans wearhouse has WWB 185gr ammo at $20 all the time - no shipping, but taxes of course. I am using their WWB to build up my stock of brass until reloading time... ;)

It was on sale last month at the price I listed. It's now back up to the non-sale price. Sportsmans Guide puts .45GAP ammo on sale every now and then. Just need to check on them every so often.
