I shoot a lot of target level ammo through my 30, 225 gr FP bullets doing under 800 fps. I was wondering what's you preferred defense ammo and how's the ballistics/recoil. The hottest 45 ammo I've ever fired was Triton 185 gr JHP +P, but I didn't own my 30 back then. This ammo was quite hot, 1150fps through a USP45. I would have liked to try this in my G-30.

Remington's 185 grain +P Golden Sabers are the hottest ammo I have personally used in my G30. The gun handles it well but recoil is obnoxious.

When the adrenalin is flowing rampantly, I never notice recoil.

I shoot/carry this in my G36. I find the recoil to be quite mild!! To each his own, I guess!!

DO NOT FIRE MAGSAFE SUPER SWAT!!!

this is a hot, hot, hot load...68 Gr frangible bullet backed by a "45 Super" or +P+ with velocity at 2200+ FPS from a 5" barrel

I test fired one to see how it would do...Glock 30 barrels are ramped at such an angle that the back of the cartridge by the rim is not supported on the bottom...the shell had expansion...I'm lucky that it didn't rupture and cause permanent damage...

I fired the rest of the package with a friend's 70 series Colt 1911 which had a barrel that could support the cartidge...we were shooting at his thick steel plate that he uses for rifle & large handgun calibers...the usual thing you see is a ring where normal bullets hit, but no bullet due to richocet; the Magsafes impacted at such velocity & power that the copper casings crushed and fused to the surface of the steel block before they could richocet off...I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it

These loads are insanely too hot...I just wish I knew that before I bought 4 packages of it!!!

I fire Super Swat loads all the time with no problems. They are totally and completely safe to shoot in the G21 and the G30. There is no such thing as a +P+ is a 45 load according to SAAMI specs. The reason they use a 45 Super casing is just to give the cartridge some extra support.

If you dont want them .. send them on over here .. as I love em !

I carry the Proload 230 gr. +p in my G30. It's easy on the hands and is quite accurate. I've also shot the 185 gr.+p Golden Sabres. But I think the 230s are more accurate. Plus at about 1/2 the price of the GSs I get to shoot alot of my carry ammo. ST

If you want hot, try Tritons 450 smc or try Texas ammo 185 grain .45 super, 200 grain .45 super or the 230 grain super.(use all of these with a heavy spring, no barrel change needed.)
For defense at this time I shoot Pro Load 200 grain +p .45. But I might be using the Triton 450 smc after I shoot a few more. ;f Go Triton, what a nice round.......

I believe those folks at Mag Safe are smoking crack...I have seen the brass from some of their stuff. YEOW that's hot! One 38 round I saw you could not read the headstamp anymore... Stick with Triton or Corbon. I shoot Federal 230 +P tactical out of my 30. Good stuff.

stay away from ultra hot loads. always remember, part of the reason they are so reliable is the unsupported 6 o'clock position in the chamber. A friend of mine had a Glock 21 kB on him with a hot handload - hurt his hand. A USP shot the same stuff no problem - but they have supported chambers. Get another supported barrel if you just have to have the +p+p+p+ to the XY squared ammo...

Does anyone know what the 230 gr +P ProLoads and others are doing out of a G-30? What about the Golden Saber 230s? Do they come in +P?

I just ordered a box of their 450 SMC 165GR HiVel and a new 21# wolff spring set to go with it (as recommended by Triton) for my new G30. I will post pics of the targets out at 25 yards. (going this weekend). I'll have to check out the Proloads.

For target ammo I found that Fiocchi (Italian Made) ammo to be pretty hot stuff. They use a diffrent system for rating bullet presures in Europe. Although it doens't say +P I am willing to bet horseshoes to handgranades that is!!!;b
