I am looking for a fairly inexpensive course for my dad and I to take. I need to get a CCW for a job I applied for, and am low on funds. I was offered a class for $125 each. Anything cheaper? Thanks, Jeff

I took my class at Peters in Roseville on Gratiot and they only charge $100 wizzi01 12-05-2007, 20:57 NO!!!! Not Peter's JoeDoe22 12-05-2007, 21:47 Whats wrong with Peters? Ive been shooting there for a while now and they are always friendly...the range ventilation sucks, but its still a good (and cheap) place to shoot pistols. 10 Ring Tao 12-06-2007, 00:32 If you're in the north half of oakland county, I was pleased with the gals of www.motorcitymarksman.com Hailstorm 12-06-2007, 06:31 You get what you pay for, for the most part. As a instructor. I could never understand how someone could charge less than $100 for a class. For a single person entering our class we would charge $150. Two days of training. Yea, we went above whats needed. But, its what we felt was needed. With expenses, we didn't make all that much money for the time involved. I did it because I liked to do it. But, now, life is just to busy to even do it anymore. Not enough cash to justify the time. Now, if you do find a nice cheap place to get a cert. Thats fine. However, do more training. Learn as much as you can. I am not throwing my hat into the ring to train you. So, please don't contact me. Not trying to been mean either. Just a FYI. The cheapest class I have seen was $45. However, that state popped him for not training right. So, read your NRA book you should get. Go shooting more. Use your head. Trebor 12-06-2007, 06:38 Where do you live? Michigan is a big state. srrch 12-06-2007, 23:36 I have a class on Saturday December 8th in Ypsilanti Michigan. The cost of the course is $110.00 plus $10.00 range fee. You will also receive a free NRA membership and a free half our training sesion at an indoor range. You can e-mail me instructor@goccw.com Thanks snakebyte 12-08-2007, 12:29 Sorry guys, I am in Brighton. I shoot a lot, but I am poor right now. Need the CCW for a job. If the class was big enough I could provide food with this price... What most people don't understand is that you have to pay for a LEO or Lawyer to come in and teach a portion of the class. This costs....! I'll say this. I've busted several so called instructors to the NRA. They invited me out to have a cup of coffee, shoot the bull and get a cert... NOT...! gsbell 12-09-2007, 08:50 If you are in Brighton then I'd contact Roger Parry at Livingston Conservation. http://lcsa.info They charge $150 but you will get your money's worth. With gas at $3 per gallon you can't drive far for a "deal" snakebyte 12-09-2007, 21:11 I did not know you needed a lawyer or cop to come in, thatks for lettin' me know. It is for my dad and I, and we are both having financial problems. Guess we just gotta save for a bit :) Thanks guys, Jeff Trebor 12-17-2007, 09:58 Jeff, Check your PM's.
