The gun store I go to doesnt have them, but Im very interested in them. FXD 12-18-2007, 21:40 Yeah it seems that Steyr owners are few and far when compared to some of the other handguns. But ya know what -I bought one (M9-A1). It came in today, it looks like a down to business peice of hardware for sure. Looking forward to hot rodding it this weekend. You think the masses know something I don't? Glolt20-91 12-20-2007, 00:16 My M40-A1 is my IWH carry, primarily in summer weather temps and it's a great pointer. It gives me consistant first shot hits on 12oz plastic bottles at 60yds; something my G20 w/6" KKM "target" barrel can't do with 2 liter sized bottles. :) It was a GTer who turned me on to the M40 over the G22/G23 since I'm an avid handloader; haven't looked back since. Bob :cowboy: DonL 12-22-2007, 01:46 Just picked up an S9 from another GT'er....Is it just me or do these Steyr's look coool?....I love this thing. Will be shooting it tomorrow. Can someone with an M40 get some inside dimensions of the M40 mag. If there are ribs on the inside take the measurements from there. I need side to side and front to back dimensions. I'm looking on using an S40 mag in the S9...Hoping to get 12rds out of it. You could have FTE/FTF's till that point. But the more you shoot them the better they get...... And the customer service if superb...for more fun, and info check out www.steyrclub.com . There you will find support and invaluable information.......:wavey: DocChronos 02-03-2008, 20:05 DonL-- You CAN use the S40 mag in an S9. You just have to ding in the feed lips a bit. There used to be a fairly detailed description of the process here on GT. You might try doing a search for the thread. Or, you can go to http://www.steyrclub.com/index.php and do a search over there. "Wulf" is the mag guru on SteyrClub. I bought a couple of S40 mags from CDNN with the intention of modding them for higher capacity in my S9, but never got around to it. I can tell you, though, that the S40 mags fit the S9. Doc viniglock 02-09-2008, 12:38 Remember you newbies to Steyrs that they do require a break-in period of 100-500 rounds. I also belong to the Steyr club as well and as you indicated they do have very good information. They only thing that I don't like about the Steyr is just the cosmetic coat the black or blue finish (It looks weak or tin in contrast the Glock), and for that I have sent my slide to be redone with CGW with a Cen Tac 9h coating Sating Boron Silver. Doc Thanks Doc, I just finished annealing the feed lips on one and got it bent in to hold the 9mm cartridge....functions flawlessly, but will do a range test soon. The difference on the inside dimensions, side to side on the 9(.740) to the 40(.780) is .040 but it doesn't seem to affect its function. ILikeFtLbs 02-23-2008, 16:33 I heard you can use Beretta 92 mags in them. Is that true? vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
