I reload for every centerfire caliber I shoot except 7.62x39 and 12 gauge. Who here reloads for their AK? Also what bullets do you use, where do you get brass ect.

I don't. Sounds expensive! Brass cased 7.62x39 is way up there.

I don't now, but one of the reasons I got a .303 was because it, the 7.62*39, the 7.62*54, and the 7.7 japanese all use the same diameter bullet. I figure the commonality will help me down the road.

About 6 mount ago, I rounded up about 200 rounds 7.62x39 brass and considered reloading for my AK. I found dies but never really found a suitable FMJ or hollow point bullet to use. I posted/asked the same question and no one reloaded 7.62x39. I started buying my practice Ammo at Academy Sports and my hollow point ammo online and never looked back. You may be able to reload slightly more accurate ammo but the saving in dollars is not a great as reloading the American brass case ammo such as 308/30-06/223.

Hornaday and Remington sell .311 sized bullets as components. I have even used the Rem 125 .308 bullets successfully. I am sure there are others you just have to look. More individuals will be reloading in the future.

There is a good article on reloading the 7.62X39 in the September 2007 issue of Guns & Ammo.
The article is also online at http://www.gunsandammomag.com/reloads/0709/
