Just curious, does anyone here have reliable chrono, expansion, or penetration data for the Winchester LE Ranger T .357 Sig ammo? Specifically out of a Glock 32?

I got my hands on a good bit of it but have no chronograph, so there's no way for me to measure velocity. Thanks in advance for anyone who has.

I can tell you what the Winchester ammunition catalog says:

Symbol=RA357SIGT
Cartridge=.357 SIG
Grains=125
Bullet Type="T" Series
Muzzle Velocity=1350 fps
Muzzle Energy=506 fpe
Barrel Length=4"

I know that this doesn't really address your question, but it's all I have.

Try out Ammolab (http://www.ammolab.com) in the test results section they have a >357 Sig section. Don't know if they have a Ranger T tested yet, but they will soon if they don't.

Hope this helps.

They do. See items #1 and #2. Tested with 4 layers of denim, results were not particularly overwhelming.

Just saw it. Which version of Ranger is that? Looks like an SXT i.e. no lubalox coating. Surprising for a Winchster Ranger unless its the Winchester SXT Premium, notorius for not expanding well.

It's Winchester's latest Ranger "T" series Law Enforcement ammunition (non-coated).

It goes to show you/us how a good bullet design can become a poor performer when heavy clothing (and other barriers) is introduced.

This is why I think the new designs such as the Federal Expanding Full Metal Jacket (EFMJ) and the CORBON Pow'R'Ball will become the bullets of the future; it removes (or substantially lessens) the barrier variable. IM:).

I got some of Peter Pi's Corbon from the ammolab giveaway and meant to go out and test it this weekend. This is the first under 200gr .45 ACP I have considered carrying

But alas I was foiled as the lady behind me on the road decided not to stop at the next traffic light. No one hurt, just a banged up car. Spent the last two days trying to get insurance, rental and towing squared away.

Sweet revenge though, her nice new Lexus SUV ended up more damaged than my car. God I love big steel American cars.

I think the 357Sig Ranger load is probably a more consistent expander than pictures one and two at ammolab indicate. I seem to remember reading over on their forum that the talon pictured as #2 was the only one that failed to expand. I don't remember how many were tested, but it was a lot more than just two.

No round designed yet is perfect, so one example of a failure to expand really doesn't mean much to me. IMHO, it's one of the best loads out there.

Take care,
