Anyone know of indoor pistol ranges in the UP besides the ones at MTU and LSSU?
It sure would be nice to be able to shoot inside and not fumble cartridges because my fingers are so cold.
My son goes up to LSSU. He belongs to some local gun club that charges $40 a year for membership. I'm not sure if they offer a indoor range. I'll check with him later today & give you an update.....
Talked to my son up at LSSU today. The shooting club he belongs to has a building that's heated with sliding windows you open & you shoot at your target which is outside the building. He says they use a wood stove in the building for heat. It's not a bad concept except you need to go outside then to change your targets. He said you can GOOGLE The Chippewa (not sure on the spelling) Shooting Association for more info. I know there's about 18 inches of snow up there right now, so I didn't ask him if anyone plows the range.....

Thanks for the response! That range is about 2 miles from my parents house, I used to shoot there before I moved to Houghton to go to college. The indoor firing line must be new, but since they have that they may be plowing the driveway now too.
I think I got a lead on getting into the range here at MTU, so hopefully that'll pan out
There is an range in Nagaunee, but the indoor part it is for .22 pistol and rifle only. They have several outdoor ranges, even moving targets. there is a 600 yard range too. It is a sportsman's type club, and you would have to join. Last time I was a member, 2002/2003, it was $ 50.00 per year for the family.
