Mainly just the inside of the hammer, didnt have anything when I was trying to get it cleaned up from the 9mths away. I was more focused on getting off the markings from the sherriffs office and cleaning the inside well, figured I can clean the inside of the hammer after reassembly. The sights i'll be having replaced soon since the right rear is smashed to the point that it finally broke the tritium vial.

Spent 4 hrs downtown to get the court order, then another 30 mins or so at the sherriffs office getting it back.

An excellent shooter, so far; and it bears a close resemblance to the Springfield Armory Custom Operator that we have always lusted after but (at close to $3K per copy) we likely will never be able to afford.

Our 2nd RIA. We think they are excellent for the price.

Detonics MTX compact double stack 1911 vs Safari Arms Enforcer (Colt Officer Model size)

The all black Detonics MTX pictured above (updated version of the classic CombatMaster) is the very first production MTX pistol made, serial numbers include my initials. The Safari Arms Enforcer above is, if you squint your eyes, serial numbered 001, its the first of a series of matched sets made with beryllium frames and was made 22 years ago.

Below is the prototype for the Detonics MTX, its one of only a couple made and used at the factory as test guns.

My old SA GI. Only thing changed is the grips in honor of my father's USCG retirement, 18lb recoil spring (stock 16lb would not feed JHP reliably), and Wilson or metalform mags. I gave it to him about ten years ago as a gift. In his old age now he does not use the gun anymore so he "left" it at my house.

It has been a very reliable gun. In the beginning it had some issues. Running grease on the rails, a 18lb spring, getting rid of the OEM mags and it has been 100% for several years and thousands of rounds.

A couple of very similar pics of my customized Colt XSE Commander. I've found stainless to be very hard to photograph. I took around 75 photos from diferent angles, camera settings, etc, to get these two and even they required a little tweaking with a photo editor to get to look "right".

I love my Theis holsters. I have one for my G19 and one for my 1911's with a matching double mag pouch all in horsehide. How much are the Theis holsters? Just curious how they compare (price wise) to the Cross Breed and Comp-Tac MTAC holsters.

Horsehide is $65 and cowhide is $55. Every time I have ever ordered anything from him I have always received it within a week(usually less), I highly recommend him. His holsters are comfortable and have good weight distribution. I can carry my 5" 1911's and barely notice them.

For my personal 1911 tribute, I found one of the Anniversary III models of the Colt 1911. I wanted something that I will keep forever, something retro, but also something I can shoot without bloodying my hand. (as I did with the first few hundred rounds through this - before the beavertail was added.)
Sent it to Colt Custom. Basic tactical upgrades. Lowered, flared ejection port, throated barrel, replaced GI sights with gold dot front and Harrison Retro rear sight. New trigger. New hammer (retro bobbed), magwell, beavertail. No ambi safety. No checkering on frontstrap. Black Oxide finish.
It won't appeal to everyone. But it's a nice mix of old and new - for me.

One thing I can say, this gun is TIGHT......the only other 1911 I remember being this tight of the ones I have owned is an old LB TRS........

Brian, I am going to give the adjustable sights a chance, the rear sight on this pistol is dehorned on the edges......
