A lot of have been asking what's been going on with us at
SureSight over the last few months.
Our communication has been brief lately, and I've been out of touch on the forums, due to health issues.
I can assure you that we've been working diligently behind the scenes to bring about some exciting new changes.
Stay tuned, we'll be making some exciting announcements shortly.
In an effort to align our company as much as possible with what you
want, we've put together a very short survey. The survey will take
you about 3 minutes to complete, at most.
If you'll be so kind as to fill out the survey for us, we'll
automatically enter you to win a $50 Visa gift card. The information
collected from this survey will not be linked to your name, and
SureSight will NEVER sell this information--it stays with us.
Go here now and tell us what you think!

We really appreciate both your input!

Chaim,
I contacted you in the past for a front sight screw. I have a original set on my G19 and need a front sight screw. Is there anyway you can send me one?
PS My original set is still going strong and I still love them. If I had a set for my HK P2000SK I would be very happy.

With all due respect, a common theme running through the threads for the last 2 years pertaining to SureSight is one of waiting for things to happen. Are you prepared at this time to state by when your "exciting announcements shortly" will be made?
I, among others, am interested in your product and have been frustrated, if not annoyed, by the lack of product now coupled with a request to complete a marketing survey @ http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=p11wewpic2HrJ_2fLmfotTiA_3d_3d suggesting a search for something to produce.
Perhaps all will be cleared up in the upcoming announcements. I hope so.

daporter,
I completely understand and empathize with your frustration. The truth is, the recent past has been very frustrating for everyone, myself included. I truly appreciate everybody's patience.
I can assure you that there WILL be an announcement, complete with a time frame, within a month or two at the most, and hopefully less than that.
Thank you for your continued patience,
--Chaim
I'll tell ya what I think without doing the survey. I was at one time interested in your product. I tried without success to obtain your product, even though I thought it was over priced. I sent emails via your website concerning availability/price of your product, I got NO response.
Therefore I am no longer interested. There, that took less than 3 minutes.

Smoke,
Please PM me with your email address. This is puzzling to me--we answer ALL of our email, and if you didn't get a response, I'd like at least the opportunity to verify that we received an email from you. If email is falling through the cracks, I'd like to know!
Thank you,

I am not cutting you down and understand the frustration of waiting for e-mails.
But if you signed up for the E-mails on his website you should be getting updates.
I can tell you that operating a business and answering all e-mails, answering phones, sending out real mail and dealing with local , state and federal government is not easy. I am a first time partial (small) owner of a large business. A business that was suppose to open a year ago! We opened two weeks ago. We ran into a lot of stupid problems that all added up. We had some minor set backs from the ground breaking to the actual day of open. I always let people make things right. If there willing to try and put forth an effort to make thing right then I support them.
I am not busting on you in no way. You had to follow the story from the beginning. The sights were being produced by Tru-Glo and distributed by MidwayUSA. They were easily obtainable and with plenty of support from Chaim. Then I think his worst nightmare took place. Tru-Glo didn't manufacture the sights right. Most people started to experience problems with the inserts popping off and the front sight base to wide. Chaim was there helping anybody who had problems. My sight inserts are still holding, but my front sight post was s little to wide and needed to be slightly filed and tapped in to place. This was no big deal for me and the front sight is rock solid in place. He then stopped the manufacturing of the sight, redesigned the sight and produced a second set. He took everybody’s input and tried to come up with a improved set. Although, I think the first set was perfect. With proper adhesive the inserts will stay forever. Chaim was doing everything he could and trying to help those with old sights and not bankrupting himself and developed and produce a new product. I understand the frustration of developing a great new product, getting it to the market place, advertising it, having one of the biggest wholesalers selling and the manufacture you agreed to produce them screw them up. Think about the future and if something goes wrong with the new product Chaim will be there to help you. He is a small business and he is trying to put forth a great product, give him a chance and be patient. I am interested in seeing what he is developing. The great thing is he is always floating around on this board. He has answered many of my posts and IM's.
Honestly the survey annoys me. I took a look at it but quit when I got to the part asking about family income.
Here is my 2 cent opinion.
I have had two of the newer sets but the glow in the dark paint was not a great substitute for a night sight. I also had a tiny corner of the paint flake off. I have since sold the sights. In the future I would be interested if a real night sight can be made and made durable enough for daily carry. It would be great if it was priced in the same range as mepros or trijicons.

Agreed. The survey allows not answering all the questions.
Chaim replaced my rear with chipped paint even though I chipped it by using a sight pusher. I already had lasers for low light so the glow in the dark paint isn't that big a deal. I would go for a night sight version but the price would have to be right.

Compassman,
Thanks for your obvious appreciation of what we've been through over here.
DT & G36Packer,
You're right; some people may have found the survey intrusive. But we deliberately structured the survey so that every question is optional, and even leaving an email is optional, so it can be done anonymously. That way, people are free to avoid any question they deem intrusive. Even answering part of the survey will help provide us with valuable information, so anyone who chooses to answer, please know your time is appreciated!
--Chaim
The survey is down now (at least when I tried the link), so I'll answer here. I'm very interested in your sights, want to buying them, want them to be durable, snag free for a quick draw from concealment, and keep their brightness for the lifetime of the product. If they do all of the above, I'm in for a couple of sets. Thank you.

Actually, the survey isn't down. For some reason, the URL presented in the opening post is incorrect. Rather, try:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=p11wewpic2HrJ_2fLmfotTiA_3d_3d
Nevertheless, I don't really understand why anyone would want to respond to the survey. Each to his own.
I, for one, am simply waiting with waning interest for SureSight to have product available.
I went ahead and filled it out. I'd like to help the guy's business, and wish him all the best. It only took a few minutes, and helps a sponsor of this site as well.
Done - due to your continued support of this site - and the respect members have for you personally. I know you must have challenges ahead of you - Pres/CEO isn't always golf and cigars... Good luck to you!

A perusal of the rather extensive list of exhibitors at the 2008 ShotShow in Las Vegas very early next month reveals that SureSight will be conspicuous by its absence.
See http://www.shotshow.com/app/homepage.cfm?moduleid=4386&appname=100300&campaignid=61346978&iUserCampaignID=34585331
I hope there's no particular significance to SureSight's apparent non-participation because I'd really like to see it's product become available. Note, however, that Advantage Tactical Sight will be there. They, too, have a triangular sight picture.

Daporter,
We sent the following update today to our SureSight mailing list:
Myself, along with a very creative team of engineers have been hard at work on completing the design for the new model of SureSight. We have developed some pretty ingenious innovations that will help you get even more out of our sights. In fact, we've got several more patents pending for this new design.
Specifically, the new model SureSight that we're about to release will address four key issues people have had with past models of SureSight. They are:
1) Easier to install. Unlike previous iterations of SureSight, the new model will be substantially easier to install. The rear sight will utilize a set screw, and will be easier to slip into the dovetail without too much filing.
2) Adjustable. For the first time, SureSight will feature an adjustable apparatus. Since these sights are primarily intended for self defense and lawful carry, we had to design our own rugged system for adjusting the sights. What we've come up with is both simple and effective. Our design is strong, and while the rear sight is adjustable for elevation, the rear sight is still more than strong enough to be used to cycle the slide on one's belt or boot in "wounded shooter drills". Another advantage of an adjustable design is that you can transfer the sights within models. In other words, if you have a 9mm handgun with our sights, and you'd like to switch them to the same brand handgun but in .45 caliber, you can now do so. Once the install is complete, you simply adjust the rear sight as needed and assure zero.
3) Plastic inserts. While we've had a very low failure rate for our yellow coating chipping off our sights, we still weren't satisfied. We wanted something stronger. After a lot of engineering research and development, we have finalized a design for fluorescent plastic inserts to replace our current silk-screened coating. The plastic resin we've selected is super-tough--it's used in the most high-end military sunglasses as well as some automotive applications.
4) Tritium. This has been the primary hold up for the re-release of our sights. At this point, I'd say we are 99% sure that this is going to work very well. I'm not yet prepared to start taking orders, because we have a bit more testing to do.
Once we've got a final design, we'll let you know. While things always seem to take longer than we expect, I believe we'll have a final tritium design within approximately 3-6 weeks.
Thank you for your patience, and rest assured that we'll let you know as soon as we are ready to roll with this new design.
All the best,
Chaim Stein

all kinds of shooting requirements. I for one have been waiting for a sight that will let me shoot fast, accurate and be able to shoot precision shots when needed. I think your design along with plain slanted rear, a fine serrated front sight, and a fine three dot Tritium lamps would put this sight over the top. That's what I've been searching for. Good luck I'll be waiting to see the new sight.

would be to use the full length of the sight radius.

I must admit that i am intrigued by your design.
So I am holding 1 glock in reserve to try these sights on.
If they are not available by June 15 then i will just slap a set of big dots on and be done with it.
I have had enough vapor ware from computer companies to put much faith in someone who can't produce a product when they are trying to sell it.
Hopefully you will make your June ship date.

. . . have been hard at work on completing the design for the new model of SureSight.

The above is from a 2/14/08 post. Now, during May 2008, the SureSight website at http://suresight.com/ still shows pictures only of a design no longer available as well as suggesting under the Buy link, http://suresight.com/buy.html, that they're merely out of inventory rather than never having had new inventory.
This apparent disingenuousness bothers me because I was truly interested in these sights before I realized I had unwittingly gotten on a merry-go-round going nowhere.
How about pictures of the new design ? I received an email a few wks ago with an offer to preorder the sight. I am not going to order a sight for >$100 without seeing them first.
RCKnight

Come on man! Help us out with some pics? I will preorder six for my department and two for my own if I could just see a pic of them. Some news? Any? You can post pics under pat pending.
How about an update? I prepaid for two of these sights and am about to cancel and have my credit card dispute the charges due to lack of shipment and notification of a pending ship date. I've written an email and inquired with an order number a few weeks ago and no response.

I'll be looking for some good sights after I acquire my next glock, and I will be keeping my eye on this one. I love the concept, but I think I will wait till they get their sights on the market before I place orders.
I followed them on and off when I heard about them last year, but they seem to be stuck in production limbo. I used to play the waiting game when new video games were coming out, and then the release dates would get pushed back more and more...

This is an old old thread but im curious to see if they are still waiting for new things to happen or not? I found the sure sight website today and everything is still out of stock. Whats going on? They look interesting, worthless if you cant get them.
Looks like this project is dead - are Leibster and Nick Van XXX (magazine fame) one and the same ?

I had some of the first ones with the plastic insert that was not glued in and came out when shooting. Also shot about a foot low at 10 yards.
I really liked the concept, but had no faith that the green paint would stay on the gen 2 models. Leibster insisted it would, but users soon reported paint chipping and flaking. This is just common sense, and it does not take a genius to figure out that paint will chip off a steel surface.
Gen 3 is supposed to be a plastic insert again (good) and adjustable for elevation (possibly something like the MMC system ?).
Anyway, it sounds good BUT it has been "coming soon" for at least 18 months now. What legitimate project could take that long. Also, if there are prototypes why don't we see pics at Suresight.com ? That website is way out of date (apparently still featuring the long defunct gen 2 product).
Leibster has not responded to any comments for a while. This looks bad. Perhaps he should just sell the patent rights and be done with it.
I pre ordered, and my card was charged. I sent them an e-mail last month asking when delivery was scheduled. They responded that they are still planning on a june ship schedule as indicated. No reference was made as to when and where this June ship schedule was sourced. I hope this isn't a scam because these sights, as described, sound great. I plan on sending another inquiry in about 2-weeks stating if I don't get a firm ship date, I am going to dispute the charges with my card company.

I read an earlier entry where someone else pre-paid under their pre-order campaign. I'm assuming that many others have pre-paid also. I just sent another email requesting an update and confirmation that Mid June is the ship date. I, like everyone else, am getting a little worried about the lack of information. :dunno:

I've also ordered and pre-paid. Unlike most of you (just a guess) I've actually handled and used the sights; I fire a Glock 22, and didn't become interested until I'd met someone at the range who had a G17 equipped with them. They didn't hang up on my holster, and made use of my regular lenses practical (as opposed to my lower bifocal lenses) relieving me of the 'PEZ dispenser' stance necessary to fire accurately with stock sights. At ten yards, they hold my groups as tight as the stock sights (fifteen shots inside a five-inch circle...three inches on a good day) and let me fire a lot faster to get that grouping.
LIKE most of you, mid-June is feeling further and further away the closer it gets...and not having a Glock sight-removal tool, I'm still looking at a gunsmith to get them installed, once they arrive. It's looking pretty expensive by now!
I remain impressed with the sights; like many, I'm growing more skeptical of the company day by day. :dunno:
I went ahead and filled it out. I'd like to help the guy's business, and wish him all the best. It only took a few minutes, and helps a sponsor of this site as well.
Yeah, I filled it out.
Maybe it'll help get those sights I already paid for delivered a bit quicker?
Naaaaah.

The sentiment quoted above presumes something not really apparent. One has only to peruse the SureSight website at http://suresight.com/. It still shows pictures of a design no longer available as well as suggesting under the Buy link, http://suresight.com/buy.html, that they're merely out of inventory rather than NEVER having had new inventory. [Edited 06/02 - the day after posting the above link its content was finally changed]
I'm suggesting evidence of disingenuousness exists. Note further, unlike virtually all its competitors, SureSight made no appearance at the 2008 Shot Show, an ideal venue to present to the world its plans.
I really don't KNOW what all this means. However, I no longer have any reason to trust representations made by the company, and further, have no intention of dealing with them.
If you guys will read Post #6, you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble. I do wish you luck on obtaining your sights or getting your $ back.
post #7 seems to directly counter post #6
ETA
Anyone know how the competition stack up against the SureSight design ?

So which one appears to be correct?????
I heard from Suresite today. Go to: http://www.suresight.com/photos.htm
Looks like shipping will commence very soon.
Whoops, I spoke too soon. Shipping is now moved from June to August. But from the pictures, I like what I see and will wait. Perhaps Suresight will passify us early payers with a discount on a second pair???
Or they could just keep moving delivery out - first I heard of the third gen they were to be introduced Feb 07, and we're still waiting. I could grow them in my garden quicker. Perhaps they are built one molecule at a time !
Still, if it comes to fruition and they are as good as expected, then it all may be worthwhile. No money from me until I have read lots of glowing product reviews here on GT, and they can deliver within a week.
