View Full Version : New G36
I just sold my Sig P245 & purchased a G36. Is there any benefit to using the
185grn over the 230grn? (Ranger T, Speer GD, Rem GS or Federal HST)
Has anyone used either the XS Big Dot or the Warren Tactical sights on the
G36?
Thanks,
John

By suing the lighter bullet, you get more velocity and energy. But as a tradeoff, penetration may not be ideal. Most people will say stick with the 230 grain bullet in standard or +P.
Big Dots are a perfect complement to the 36 IMHO. Big Dot, big hole. Perfect.
Thanks for all the great info!!!

I like the 230's in my Glock 36. For practice 230 grain CCI Blazer, for personal protection Hornady 230 TAP +P, and for fun the Double Tap 230 ball.

I carry 230 grain in mine. It loves the heavier load.

I currently use the speer gold short barrel in mine.
I tried the Federal Tactical 230 +P. It was a little too much for me.
John!
I use wwb 230 gr and CCI 230 gr for the range practice but for carry i use Winchester Ranger SXT 230 gr JHP the glock 36 loves them.
I carry RemGS 185.
From the testing I've seen, they apparently have a tendency to lose their jackets, which isn't ideal, but it's also not the end of the world. My other choice would be Speer GD.
