I've noticed that there are many of these "pic threads" in the firearms forums, so I figured I would start one for us to share our knife collections! Be sure to include details! I'll be posting mine as soon as my new CRKT comes in!

Hell of a collection there FARW10ring.

I have a few knives, but nothing super duper fancy. The fanciest is my Spyderco Carbon Fiber Military.

I do want a HAK really really bad though.

Nope! It is a Yarborough and/or Green Beret knife. (Chris Reeves.)

I also have the 1st SFG(A) Serial Numbered knife w/ crossed arrows and 1 for the 1st SFG(a) over them.

Both can be placed on the plaque, which was made by the Father of a GB, for his son's knife.

Great Randall,Eddie. I still have mine from back in the "good ol' daze". Mine is a Mod 14 Attack.

It has really been used but now retired to the safety of my gun safe.

Mine has been sharpened on river stones,it has opened 55gal drums, and cut .040" safety wire.

Back when the choices were Gerber or Randall, I feel that I made the right decission.

Yeah, thanks guys. Sorry for the small picture. That's the only one I had. Yes, it's a Randall Model 14 Attack, but with a Spearpoint blade, saw teeth, forward slant nickel silver double bolster, and stainless blade.

Quick question for you knife aficionado's..... How do I go about ordering a Kydex sheath. I don't know who to order from, I don't want to send the knife out to be fit, but I want an excellent fit, and something that looks great. Am I out of my mind? Scratch that. My family tells me that I am all the time anyways. Better question....am I being unrealistic? I have one suggestion from GT's Myth that Tactical Ops is a good choice. Any others?

How do I order one? Give them measurements?

Thanks,
Eddie:shocked:

Simply the best kydex sheaths I have seen (with kydex you MUST send it out) is with Bladetech. I have a good LEO friend that sends all of his knives (customs) to Bladetech for sheathing. You will also have great results with http://www.buybrownholsters.com/

(TEKNA Micro-Knife)

This one isn't very fancy, but it is a bit unusual. Bought it 20+ years ago and have never seen anything like it in stores since.

It has a button on the top (just like a ball point pen) that retracts the "sheath". It was made by TEKNA who is still in business.

Apparently the glorious peoples State of CA banned them as "switchblades", even though they aren't. You can still find them on E-Bay for around $100.

I only have pics of a few, but here they are.

Top one is one my dad made out of D2, hickory and brass. 11 1/8" OAL, 5 5/8" blade, brass guard, cold blued blade. Very interesting, holds an outstanding edge. Bottom is a M5A1 bayonet, not sure what it was supposed to go on. Garand I think? Instead of the ring to go around the barrel, it has a nub on the inside of the guard, on the same side as the catch. Its 11" OAL, with a 6 1/4" blade, half of which is sharp on both sides. Guard is marked M5A1 and Imperial. Was my grandfather's, a WWII/Korean era Army Lt. Col. No sheath.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/NeverMore1701/Knives.jpg

This one is a good quality replica of the Sword of Tigris from Gladiator. I got rid of the 5lbs of brass that comprised the original hilt, and re-hilted much more authentically, all wood. Handle is leather wrapped hickory. Very good cutter.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/NeverMore1701/Gladius.jpg

This is a spatha I just traded off, as I never cut with it any more. Antiqued the blade and replaced the handle with leather wrapped hickory. Cut like a demon.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/NeverMore1701/Maximus.jpg

This is another one I did some minor work on. Antiqued the blade and fittings, flattened the pommel, and did another leather over hickory handle. Came out pretty well.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/NeverMore1701/Drac2.jpg

This is my friend with Requiem, my Christian Fletcher Redeemer, number 16/25. My pride and joy. Also have a custom scabbard made by another friend, leather over wood core, with metal fittings engraved with my tree. No pics of the scabbard though.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/NeverMore1701/63298361_l.jpg

Also have a ~3" double edged Camillus boot knife that I wish I could still carry, a 4.5" WWII Kabar (I think Navy. no pic), and a 3 1/4" plain edge Gerber Gator.

02-03-2008, 19:07
Love it, and my wife loves her 02 (same exact design, just about 30% smaller). Very fast, the AutoLawks is quite nice, and it takes and holds a very decent edge. More than worth the ~$65 I paid for it. Also, the customer service at CRKT is second to none, I've lost screws, clips, o-rings, etc on the M16-13Zs I used to have, and they got replacements to my door in 2-3 days on several occasions, always completely free.
Great company, great products.

I also just managed to sell the Orchid, so there's ~$275 I can put toward more knives. Yay.

Thanks, Scarecrow. The Glock knife is a decent "tool" knife, for what it is. I think it was about $25-$30, I keep it in my truck. If it gets stolen or damaged in heavy use, I won't feel bad about just having to get another one. The CRKT is a real nice little knife. Rides well in the pocket and opens/closes real smooth and fast. I got it from my brother, who is in LE. The emblem on it says "Federal Bureau of Investigations/Special Wespons and Tactics/Jacksonville Branch". He got it from an agent that he knows. It's my first tanto. I wasn't a fan of them until I got this one, then I was sold (which later led to my Emerson purchase).

It's a lot more dressy than a Delica, for a gentleman to use at the office. The dual finger choils make it secure to grip, but I think it still needs a short lanyard.

Thanks!

That is an Ikoma Guardian Angel II flipper. The maker is a really talented guy in Brazil named Flavio Ikoma. The pivot system is called IKBS which stands for Ikoma Korth Bearing System. It's literally on ball bearings. IKBS makes for the best flippers and balisongs in my opinion! Rock solid lockup and smoooooooooth.

Flavio makes full custom knives from some really basic tools. It's amazing what he can turn out of his shop given the tools he works with! I've met him several times and he is a true gentleman.

Emerson Karambit and Kabar Fin tanto. The karambit is probably the most practical knife I've ever owned, as well as a good alternative weapon to a handgun (if you're trained on how to use one). The Kabar is bombproof and has withstood everything I've thrown at it. The only pics I have of them are with the Glocks.

Thank you sir !
I make these knives from 3" small game blades, to 4 1/2" hunters/skinners, to 8/14" bowies, all out of Cholla Cactus wood from here in West Texas, to Elk from NM, and Wyoming. Whatever the customer wants, actually, I make it.

Just another hobby to add to the list.

Thanks again.

Hard as a stinkin brick ! We take the dead ones, and they go through dozens of sanding process's, then when everything is fit to the teeth, and we are ready to "set" the blade in the handle, I use a particular medium for this, that is sronger than a freight train, (so to speak), and then more sandings, down to 1500/2400 grit, 7/10 coats of tung oil over a 7/8 day period, everything is hand fitted to the nth degree as much as possible.

I messed on up once for a customer, and had to "take it down after the hardening process in the center. Took a giant shop vice, a hammer, and other tools to bust off the handle, and start again.... It is as dense as bodark almost, and very strong, (the cholla wood). (picked up in the correct time and condition).

Heck i twisted my ankle once up on top of one of the 7,000 ft mountains on the ranch, and picked up a little 3ft piece of dead cholla about as big around as a quarter, and it never split or cracked, getting my 200# frame all the way down the mountain, using it as a cane, over rock and you name it.

I left out a good deal of the process, but no need in making this a book ! ;)
I will say, it takes me about 36/45 hours, to build one knife.

The Applegate is in my opinion the best "tactical" (whatever the hell than really means) folder you can buy. Flame away, but I had one for 9 years until I though I lost it and had to go buy another. You can not rub the titanium nitride finish off that blade and the 154cm steel is fantastic.

When I thought I lost the Applegate I was deployed and told my wife to go buy me another one. She let the salesman talk her into the Emerson that is pictured and I have been abusing it ever since. I hate knives that are sharpened on only one side.

Anyway until the replacement Applegate arrived I was forced to use a coupld of Benchmade auto folders that I was issued. I am not a big fan of benchmade. They are ok, but nothing spectacular.

Then, the must own Spyderco's. I have a Military and a Para-Military that I got as gifts, but just can't stop carrying that Applegate.

A couple of the Jumpmaster Knives I have been issued.

I do not like the SOG that much. I especially dislike the sheath. The portion where it attaches to your belt or gear is hard plastic and there are two snaps on the back that have a bad habit of coming off. To secure it to your gear you need to use zip ties. I also had a sheath break in the cold. SOG did replace it for free though.

The Benchmade is a great knife. Solid, holds an edge and on top of that it was free. Can't beat that......

Some excellent sharps in here.

First is an Eddie White custom of www.shadowknives.com (http://www.shadowknives.com) Model XII Serial 035

It features a 4 inch 154CM clip point. The handles are Black G10 with stainless pins and has red liners. I asked Eddie if he would add jimping for the thumb area and sharpen the false edge. The photo belongs to Eddie so I cannot claim that as mine. I love this knife and is my EDC fixed blade that is put to good use.

Second picture is a combo featuring an Emerson SFS PSARK and a Kershaw Junkyard dog. One or the other usually supplements my fixed blade daily as well.

Evamore - how do you like the Junkyard Dog? I only have a couple of Kershaws, but I've never put them through any serious use. They're more collector items for me. The JYD looks like a tough knife. I almost picked one up the other day until I saw a Spyderco I had to have.

I like it over all because of the features it has such as aestetics. Blade is reminiscent of a nessmuk style and I like how the blade lacks a stud creating a "naked" look and the gray G10 is grippy and great for a saber grip. I didn't like the pocket clip so I took mine off and keep in in my pocket. I utilize it from opening common items from envelopes to prepping meals in the kitchen but I think the Sandvik steel they used could have been a better choice because while its easy to sharpen and get razor scary sharp I find the edge kinda dulls away after intermediate use rather quickly and I'm not hard on the knife more than I need to be. I know Kershaw offers the same model but I think its the Junkyard II with a Sandvik 13C26/CPM-D2 composite blade which I am guessing addresses that issue of edge retention. I do think the Junkyard I and II addresses the average joe's basic need and it fills it for what it is. Just keep in mind, the hardest thing I've put mine through was for dressing a pig for a mantanza but usually the norm is for cutting through the already mentioned and not making bacon. MMM...bacon....

I bought this Benchmade Mini Presidio 525S after holding it for a few minutes. Like the G19, it fits my hand nicely; it just feels right in my left hand.

I also thought I'd try the hi-cap mag. It's nice to have, but unlike the G19 and the Benchmade, the mag is something I'll probably use once a year, or less.

My new(ish) CRKT Minimalist. Nice little neck knife. Has pretty grippy thumb rest about an inch long, comfy green micarta grip scales, and a quite decent kydex sheath, with good retention. Not half bad for $23 OTD.

First post here at GT after browsing for a while. Figured the best first post I could think of was this pic of my new(ish) Benchmade. Tell me what you think, it's my first pic with a digital camera that is not attached to a phone haha. Couldn't make the corner shadows how I wanted them with props, so I added them in Photoshop....I hope they don't look artificial

Beautiful knife. Re: the shadowing. The shadow on the bottom left looks great, the top left is a bit artificial appearing. I'm not sure if it's the fading, or if the offset between where the shadow hits the blade vs. the backdrop., but something is slightly off.

Like that ZT, where did you get it and how much did it run you?

I got the ZT from eBay from seller timberwolf_outdoor_products. It cost $236.00 with a free ZT shirt and a free Kershaw tool kit. Also free priority shipping. Lock up is like a vault and the quality is great. I bought the Kershaw Leek from eBay seller knifecorner who is also a great seller out of Texas.
