MGW tool ?

So the instructions included with my MGW tool state that is explicitly for pushing sights in the direction away from the T-handle.

If this is the case, can someone answer the following questions:

1) Why would they not make the head asymmetric if this were really the case. Current design allows both pushing and pulling.

2) Has anyone been able to start there sights far enough so that they can push them 100%? (I had to pull them a little bit so that I could line up the head with the sights and push them the rest of the way.)

I'm aware that the instructions say not to use the tool for pulling, but I've had to do just that a few times. I've been very careful; have pulled only as far as was absolutely necessary, and haven't experienced any problems yet.

Thanks Walter. I guessed that would be your response. I did the same and pulled them just far enough to be able to turn the tool around with the handle cranked all the way out.

I use my MGW tool for pushing and pulling, sometimes I have to pull the sights to start them, (factory glock adjustable sights come to mind) then switch to push mode. no problem either way.

Mine has the same instructions. I was careful at first, but now I ignore them. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether you push or pull. The geometry of the device looks like it would be a little stronger in push mode than in pull, but in practical terms it doesn't seem to matter.
