for the state of Texas, is the march 4, 2008 primaries open ? or do i need to register with a party to vote in the primaries ?
the best i can tell is that it appears to be open.

Primaries are open. You choose your party when you vote in the primary. You do not have to register as being a member of a particular party inTexas.
Having said that, remember that once you vote in the primary for one party, you cannot vote in the runoff of the other party, but must stick to the runoff of the party in whose primary you voted.
