Congratulations Jerry from the last man (woman) on the totem pole. This is Sniper's wife and #147 on the score sheet. While my morale is not as low as my score, could I at least get an "atta girl" for trying from you or anybody else that scored higher that me? Do they have any booby (no pun intended) prize for last place? How about some advise? I guess I shouldn't complain too much having only fired a weapon on about a half-dozen occassions. I have already paid for Waldorf so I won't back out now. If you see me on Saturday, give me a thumbs up or a pat on the back. You will recognize me, I will be the one with the big "L" on my forhead.

By the way, Sniper got Class C 3rd place. I guess somebody in this family is a winner.

We've all had bad scores but you've already done the hard part, starting! :) My wife shoots Conyers and Jax and has a good time no matter what else. She has found that she shoots better when I'm not at the same stage with her, might think about it if you don't share the same pistol. If you do it's a good excuse to get your own! ;f I won't be at Waldorf but let me be the first to wish you good luck.

Congratulations to all the winners. That includes those that overcame the nerves and butterflies to shoot for the first time. And to those that took home prizes. My 105 didn't get me into the top ten but it was a personal best. My wife is proud of me. I am too. It sure is fun. Hope to see everyone in Waldorf.

Good Luck to All!

Yes Danny, I would have to agree with you there. I had a good time even though I was very nervous about shooting. Everyone was friendly and encourging. I will take you up on the advice Saturday AM. (including directions on how to get to the club) Thanks to everyone for the support. When you see me on Saturday, I will be the the one with "L" on my forehead, but now I will be ready to throw the "L" away.

This year a 188.?? looks pretty good!

Next step, actually winning something ;j

I'm glad y'all talked about how fun this was. Finally got off my butt and started competing instead of talking about 'I really should...' all the time.

Sniper here.
I would like to thank everybody who gave my wife an ataboy, I keep telling her that this is only your third match of anykind and the fift time you have ever shot so don't knock yourself over it.
It took me fourteen years to get her to shoot and know I think I'm in trouble but we all know this is a good kind of trouble.
Con grats Jerry on you win and I will take my third in C class money and put it toward my new 23 barrel.
hope to see so more GTers at waldorf Saterday am. Sniper

Hey Snipers wife, congratulation on a finish and for at least trying. You can never finish/win until you start. I think at least half of the whole thing is mental, so don't let it get you down or you'll just have an extra hill to climb. Remember what you did well and practice what you didn't, it takes time but you'll get there.

Congratulations to Jerry, hurry up and get out of the way, I'm trying to get to the top (maybe one day).

Congrats to "TEAM SIDEARMOR", I guess it just goes to show what a good Coach can do.

See you all in Waldorf. Pastor Ron

PS Good to hear from old TJC. I miss you guys.

Congratulations Jerry! Great victory! To anyone else that is unhappy with your score, remember this is something we do to have fun. Set personal goals and work to improve. This was my first event and it was great fun. I can't wait until Statesville. Now the big question since I only missed Class C winner by 11 places, I finished low in class B, do I shoot better or worse to win a gun :)

Just thought I would tell Sniper's wife I understand where your coming from! I am a new female shooter to the sport and less than a year ago I had never touched a gun! Now I can't wait till my next match! I shot my first match in Jacksonville, FL of this year. My scores were <ahem> far from impressive but I had fun and learned a lot ....and now I can't wait till the next match. But now at least I have somewhere to start from and hope to only improve. practice, practice, practice right? Maybe someday I will be as good as Jerry....right?? hehehe:cool:

Hey Glockgrl121! Less than two years ago my wife, Nan had fired less than 100 rounds when she went with me to my first GSSF shoot.. she tried a side match of plates, ran 6 for 6 with my G22, then did it with a borrowed G19, 6 for 7 and informed me she "had to have one of these!" Within a couple of months, she was already shooting scores higher than I did in my first match! She can only make it to a couple of matches a year but she shot second in "C" class at Jacksonville this year and she loves to shootI can hardly keep her in ammo! (and I am very happy with that as well!) It is a real thrill to see more and more female shooters at the matches. Glad to see you competing!

TrooperDan,

I met your wife Nan at the Jax shoot I remember....but I can't remember if I met you or not? I am Daniel2201's girlfriend...Daniel had introduced me to Nan by email and come to find out she not only shoots but also shares my other passion in life....Horses!! :D It was great to talk with her at the Jax shoot....and I hope we get more chances to visit when we go to Statesville and Conyers this fall.

As far as my weapon preference goes, Daniel started me out on a 22 but that was a little large for my hand so when he got a 23 I fell in love!! I now claim it as "my gun". <G> I even outfitted it with a set of Bo-Mar sights.

Good to hear from you and tell Nan I said "Hi"!
