View Full Version : Julia Carson cancer finally took it's toll
Just had the news on and heard Julia Carson lost her battle with cancer. She was definately not my favorite but still sad to hear.
While I didn't agree with her on many (any) issues, It's sad to see anyone suffer thru cancer.
RIP

+1 on the suffering for Congress Woman Carson, that is an awful way to go.
Yeah, I never felt she was a credible representation of Indiana in the House but cancer is a tough way to go.
Does Mitch Daniels get to name a replacement until the next election?

No.
From what I understand, each party's committee will appoint a person to run in a special election called by the Gov. I believe there is a time limit to get this done.

Interesting how the sentiments go here. On AR15.com's Indiana Hometown Forum, there are two topics ... one is civil and "nice" like this, and the other has some less compassionate expressions (which started when we found out she was sick).
I won't miss her at all. I believe she was evil and did evil things.
I know it's supposed to be sad when any human dies, but I am saving my compassion for her victims (including her supporters, many of whom suffer more because of her whether they know it or not) who will experience the effects of her socialist-statist agenda for years to come. Her successor is likely to continue in her footsteps, and might be worse because he or she won't have health problems holding them back from doing their damage.

She was a blatant racist.. to eulogize her in any positive way is very wrong..
I don't wish cancer on anyone including her.
Something about her always didn't seem on the up and up to me,the word crook comes to mind

That'll include a whole lot of us. She was one of the main orchestrators of the most extensive and systematic looting of the public coffers that I've ever seen in all my years as a Hoosier. At least she wasn't able to take it with her. May she rest in peace.
My mother always taught me that you respect the office even if you don't agree with the person. While many things good or bad can be said she was atill our congressman and we should respect that. Saying bad things now is useless and serves no purpose. IMHO

Well said, Rich.

If we fail to remember the damage she has done and tried to do, we won't be as vigilant in trying to stop her successor for doing the same or worse.

We had that chance on November 7. 2006. Now we have another.
