Anyone else stashed their nines away for a while, played with the Big Dawgs, and gone back to look at your nines and wondered why the rounds seem so tiny? :)

I had been giving my USP9 a rest, shooting my USP45 and G30.

I got the 9 out last night to give it a CLP bath, and I had forgotten about how puny...er..."small" the rounds are compared to good ol' .45! Those 115gr. Cor-Bons are like little shiny rabbit turds!

I love high capacity, low recoil, and the velocity. I love the low cost of practice with a 9.

Now I realize one other thing I like...the rounds are just so cute! ;f

I was thinking that the Makarov ammo my brother uses is cute, until I tried shooting some of it!! It is the 120(?)gr silver Bear stuff. I went back to a 1911 after one mag full of those things. Comparing the recoil sensations the .45 is a big baby round, the nine is more of a terrible two toddler, and the small mouse guns are like a yappy dog. Just my observations, but most other people I have discussed this with agree with me. Yes, the nines are cute, especially when stoked with Speer Gold Dots. Looks kinda like they're saying "Feed Me!!"

Yeah, I have shot .45 for 30 years and just recently added the 9 for IDPA. I look in the box an see a pile of 9mm shells and think, well, about 200 to reload, no big deal. 1000 rounds later I wonder what is taking all the time!
