Does your 30 pinch? [Archive]

Guy at a gunshop the other day was saying that some 30's pinch some people's pinky finger between the mag and grip.

Is he full of crap or does this happen to any of you?

It didn't for my 30 or 36... If it happens to with a 30 then get a Pierce mag extension and be happy:)

Mine has never pinched me, though it often gives me a thrill. If you pushed your pinky into that space where the mag extends from the grip the movement that takes place when the guns fires might pinch. Personally I think if you pinch your finger you may be gripping too hard on the bottom of the grip instead of firmly at the top.:cool:

Not me. Some big-hand people say it can do it though. My brother being one of them (he's 6'2 and a 1911 looks small in his hands).

Slugger, I gotta' go with the guy that says it may be the grip. i had a helluva lotta' pinching...and I had two of my six mags with the Pearce extensions!
For some reason (don't know why) I decided to shoot my G30 for IDPA last Saturday instead of my (gasp!) Ruger 357; no pinching! Musta' been the grip.
On the other hand...the guy that suggested the Pearce grip.....what is there about the Pearce extension (I'm talking height or thickness of the extension) that would stop the pinching? It couldn't seat closer to the grip frame could it?;d

i shot an leo freind of mines 19 the other day and it was pinching me a little bit. i changed my grip around, and grasped tighter to the top of the grip. and i eleviated the problem. i havent shot a whole lot of larger framed glocks usually just my 27 or my freinds 30.

My G30 with stock baseplate never pinched me. But I didn't like the grip it gave me so I swapped it out for a Pearce extension. The Pearce DID pinch me but the grip felt much better and actually fit me. I recently added an Agrip and haven't been pinched since. I did not cover the extension, my guess is the Agrip material helps to fill the gap.
