I couldn't wait to shoot it so I went out front and popped some Colibri rounds at some cans. I shot a five round string on paper and wound up with a one inch group at thirty feet. That is pretty good accuracy considering that Colibri ammo is not too consistant.
I hope to get to the range on Friday at lunch time to see how it really shoots.!;f
John,
I just got mine too. Did the colibri rounds cycle or did you have to rack the slide yourself?
I'm going to try to sneak away tomorrow and break mine in with Win. High V's. Shhh! My wife doesn't know yet! I may be stopping by "work" for a couple hours...

The Colibri has to be hand cycled and may have to be fed one at a time. Sometimes they fed correctly, others they popped out of the mag as the slide closed. I think this is because the spring steel lips are so short.
I took it out to the range last week and managed to put 100 rounds from five different types of ammo into a 1.5 in circle at 25 feet. It is really a well made piece and I am very happy with it.
Just putting it together and racking the slide, it seems clunky. Does your's have the same feel and does that go away after a break-in period? I assume a couple hundred rounds should work it out!

I had to polish the striker where it connects with the trigger thingy but other than that it feels fine. It is lighter than the regular slide but I will get used to that. The finish is wearing from many presentations from my Fobus holster but it is great for practicing IDPA. I haven't shot it to determine which ammo it likes best yet. I will give it a couple hundred more rounds first.
Loading the mag is killer! They need a loading tool more than Glock does. My thumbs are sore! I can usually fully load a Klinton mag with no problems, but the last 2 rounds of 22 cal, and my thumbs were hurting every time.
The kit was great other than that.
Federal High Velocity rounds (550 rnd. bulk pack) did not function. I ended up doing a jam clearing drill with that mag. They are not kidding when they say they don't recomend them.
Winchester Dynapoint (500 rnd. bulk pack) performed very well. These will become my "cheap" ammo. They also seemed to shoot where pointed better than the rest. I was only shooting from 25ft and more for function than accuracy. True accuracy may lie elsewhere.
Winchester High Velocity and Wildcat 22's, Remington Thunderbolt 22 and CCI MiniMags functioned well too. I shot 50 rnds of each, except for the Federals (10 rounds and they were out).
Half the bullit types were hollow points (hey, for copper washed, that's how they shape 'em around here). There were no problems associated with the hollow point rounds.

I have found that WW Dynapoint and Fed Classic (both 36gn copper washed hollow points) work fine in most of my pistols and rifles. My 1942 Mossberg likes WW Wildcat the best and my AR 15 Ciener conversion likes either CCI Blazer or Remington Golden Bullets. I never shoot expensive .22 ammo as it is a waste for practical shooting and most hunting.
I wish my Ciener .45 conversion would shoot as well as my Advantage Arms Glock conversion. The Ciener seems to be tight, but it is not consistant. I may have to break down and buy a Marvel adapter some day.

Sean, I use a certain technique with any .22 that doesn't have an external mag follower button as Ruger pistols do. Insert the shell rim down onto the follower just ahead of the feed lips. As you depress it, just rotate the nose forward and slide the rim back up under the feed lips. Next shell on top of the first, etc. etc. There's simply not enough 'meat' to hold onto with .22s to load them as you would a centerfire mag. No more sore thumbs! :)
VictorLouis,
Exxxcelent! I think I'll get more range time now.
Thanks,
Sean

seanc, I modified a factory "GLOCK Loader" to use with my AACK.
Works real well & was simple to do.
