A drunk lady plowed into me doing what officers estimated at 70mph Saturday night. She was drunk and SINGING CHRISTMAS CAROLS as they cut her out of her car. Thank God I had my seat belt on. As for the beloved 2000 Toyota Tacoma it was destroyed. The bed got pushed all the way into the cab and my driver seat broke. It even popped out of gear. I walked away with a dislocated shoulder and a black eye, the big guy was watching out for me that night. Hopefully a new Tacoma or Tundra will be in the driveway soon.
:faint: Glad to hear you are OK.....

Thanks, ME TOO! There was about 5 seconds where you couldnt have gotten the proverbial q-tip up my *** with a sledge hammer. It was close, she knocked me into on coming traffic in the middle of 779 in Botetourt County, came REALLY close to going heads on with an explorer doing atleast 50mph.....
Mayberry,
Sure glad you're okay!
What was she singing?

A REALLY bad attempt at Jingle Bells and Frosty the Snowman, it was truly one of the funniest things I have ever seen. To bad it hurt to laugh, I dont know how the state troopers kept a straight face.....
Forgot to mention NO INSURANCE, thankfully I have good insurance with Nationwide. My agent has been great so far. She actually checked her work email at home and saw my claim. She called me at home on Christmas to check on me and tell me an adjuster would be on it today when all the offices reopened.
Sad story, but the important thing is that you are OK.
Glad you're OK, dude.
"How ya feeling?"
"Like a car hit me."
"Ouch."

No insurance? Hope the Judge throws the book at her -- but I'll bet she has a history of drunk driving! Perhaps you should seek the advise of a competent attorney because she may have assets that can and should be attached.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. Fortunately this was just a little bump in the road (NO PUN INTENDED!!!). I must give credit to Nationwide, they have really watched out for me. All medical will be covered including several trips to the chiropractor over the next 6 to 8 weeks to get my back loosened up, it has really been cramping bad over the last few days.
The adjuster explained alot to me how the uninsured motorist stuff works. Basically, everything within reason is paid in full. Including a very generous settlement on my old truck (I was actually amazed and thankful). The medical stays open until a doctor of my choice says my shoulder and back are healed. After all is said and done my insurance company will sue and garnish this woman's pay and start going after any and all assests until they (Nationwide) are paid in full. She literally may take home 60% of her wages for the next 10 years.
Again I am just thankfull everything worked out with no real long term effects. After reading Truckee's thread on the young fellow that was shoot over Christmas, It really drove the point home that this is not a big deal at all.
