View Full Version : Lone Wolf
I have seen Lone Wolf stuff all over these forums. Me personally have never bought any. A lot of Lone Wolf barrels. Are these after market products any good? Why do I want a Lone Wolf barrel over any other? Just wondering. Please let me know. Thanks.
Lonewolf is an excellent vendor that provides both quality merchandise and fast shipping. Only you can decide if you need an aftermarket barrel. I've been a Glocker since 1996 and only use factory barrels. Lonewolf is my favorite source for other Glock accessories.

The barrels are cheaper than any others and work just as good.
Why choose any others over Lone Wolf?
I don't doubt they have good after market items. But the biggest thing that I found strange was the number of people who buy their barrels, regular barrels, not ported or extended just the barrel. I was curious to know if they were special in some way. More accurate? I dunno, I have been using Glocks for years and years, own a ton. Love the stock barrels. I am one of those people who likes what they like and don't stray. I am trying to get outside my bubble and learn more about after market stuff.

Why choose Lone Wolf over stock is my main question.

A lot of people buy the aftermarket barrels so they can shoot lead rounds.

Lots of folks get LW conversion barrels that aren't extended or ported, but allow them to shoot calibers other than what the gun was originally intended. (and lead...forgot about that one)
I've ordered from LWD many times. JR and his staff are very helpful and are always willing to answer any questions the customer might have about a particular product. Also, if you have any issues with your purchase just let them know and they'll make it right.

Did'nt think about this at all. Makes a lot of sense, I might do that. Lol. I do know about conversion barrels, I was mainly talking about just same cal barrels. But now I know. Thanks. One more tid bit, thoughts on their other products, I know had one guy said it was good, any other thoughts?

I use aftermarket barrels in my .40 glocks because the chamber is a lot more supported and dosn't blow out the brass as bad. If you reload its dangerous to use brass fired from a glock stock barrel.
I have a Lone Wolf ported barrel in my 21SF. Shoots great, no problems. Lone Wolf does use a left hand twist compared to a right hand twist in factory units. Some may find a difference in bullet flight for a few rounds until they adjust.

They have great prices, they have great service. Generally if I need a Glock part or accessory I look there first. I like to "reward" good service and products with my money...

because these barrels are ok with lead?
I originally bought LWD barrels because of the price. I have been very happy with the quality and reliability of their barrels. They have great customer service to boot. I have stuck with them since.

The LWD barrels provide better chamber support in .40 S&W which gives a slightly better margin of safety.
With the cost of bullets skyrocketing like gas prices as a reloader I've gone from jacketed bullelts to cast lead. As you should know lead bullets will foul stock barrels due to the polygonal rifling which can lead to dangerous overpressure in the barrel. LWD with conventional rifling minimizes leading allowing the use of less costly cast bullets.

Some people want to shoot lead bullets, which are bad for Glock barrels. Other people don't shoot well and, instead of learning to shoot, they change sights, change barrels, lighten and polish triggers, etc., because they think the gun is the problem.
