Do your research. As in using the 'search' function of this site. You cannot compare the 30 to the 26. Both are fine firearms but both are in two very separate classes. Like attempting to compare apples to oranges my friend.....

Allow me to shamelessly and bluntly answer the man's question :)

"why is a glock 30 better than a glock 26 ?"

BECAUSE IT'S A .45!!!!
;e

OTOH, Do you want a .45 or a 9mm?
Only you can answer that.

The g26 will allow you quicker follow-up shots. Just something to think about.

I have both the G30 and the G26. The G30 is great if you want a durable, dependible and accurate 45 for ccw.

The 26 is considerably lighter and smaller and therefore easier to conceal. My wife takes it with her jogging, and it is her main carry gun. It is also quite a bit cheaper to shoot at almost 1/2 the price for ammo in this area. If you want to shoot a lot and not be breaking into the piggy bank, the 26 may be something to consider.

I don't know that you could go wrong with either choice.

I too own both, and both are superb handguns. The 26 is exemplary as a carry weapon, but for home/car applications I prefer the 30 because of the .45 caliber. It depends on what you need. If I could have only one, I'd take the 30 because it can do it all and do it well, including CCW.

The 30 (what I carry) is a 24-ounce .45 packing 10 rounds the size of a Commander (in 1911 terms).

The 26 is a 20-something-ounce 9mm packing 11 rounds, that's the size of a Chief's Special.

Obviously, they have different roles. If you're used to packing a 1911, the G30 will be lighter with better reliability and more rounds, but about the same size. The G26 is much smaller, easier to hide and all that, but it's a 9mm.

I have a G30 and a G27. I carried the 30 for 3 years but now carry the 27. I prefer the 30 because it is a 45, but the 27 is easier to carry/conceal.

G30 gets you bigger holes.

G26 gets you more holes onto target faster.

But, on sale, you can buy 2,000 rounds of 9mm for the price of 1,000 rounds of 45 ACP.

If you're concealing the gun, the G26 conceals easier.

People sell their G30s because they are a tad thick. I did. And all of a sudden, a G21 showed up. Who did that?

G26 if you want to shoot that carry gun a lot!
