For those who have Gemtech suppressors:
Like 'em?
Love 'em?
Want to throw your's in the river?
When I finally get settled in a "Free State" next year I was looking at a Gemtech HALO. From reading, it sounds pretty simple to put on, and I'm liking the price.
What say you?

Negative. I'll be happy enough down there.

You know Oreilly is anti-gun right??
On the topic, Gemtech is a proven company. I have nearly 3000$ in Gemtech can's. TPRS, M496D and a Vortex2.
Next one will be the Trinity.
happy with the blackslide and trinity,
want a pic?

How is the suppression with the trinity? In other words, do you need earplugs with it?
I'm building up a 9MM AR. Guessing yours is a thread mount?

Hopefully you'll be up at the pin on top right?
The Harris County Sheriff's Dept is a demorat tool and will not issue any CLEO signoffs. The HPD chief likewise. Down in Houston and the suburbs it's Trust/Corporation/LLC territory.

I have been shooting the trinity at a indoor range,
and usually shoot with out hearing protection.
its sounds really sweet with 147 subsonics,
its very sweet using the hard to find IMI 158 grain and Crotaion 158 grain ammo.
Yes it is thread mounted, but the trinity is a modular platform,
you can purchase different end caps, like a 3 lug or 1/2x28 thread,
just unscrew the end cap and replace with a different one.
The trinity is also rated Full auto.
The trinity does take a artifical medium (its a wet can)
i usually use BreakFree or Vasaline, some times a combination of both.

Yeah The Woodlands is #1. Spring is #2 but if I remember right certain parts aren't Harris County. And even if need be, an LLC or trust is simple to do. I wasn't AS stoked about homes/apartments I found in Conroe but hey, you never know.

My main draw to the trinity is it's small size. It's been put last in the 9mm muzzle can race with SWR, AAC etc based solely on DB reduction, however even so I think it'll make for a unnoticeable addition to the end of my 9mm SBR when it's completed as ffar as weight/bulk.
Might I change my mind if I heard a SWR or GT side by side? Maybe, but the 9mm can I buy will also be used on a pistol, and It's compact size makes needing sights altered less likely depending on the gun used.

I too have a Trinity and LOVE it. I bought the can used from a local dealer friend. Gemtech took the can back and made me an end cap spanner wrench and removed my impossible to remove AR 1/2-36 thread mount. NO CHARGE. Now I can swap between that end cap and my LID endcap.
I've shot this can with my 7" bbl. 9mm AR. It is really quet with my handloaded 158gr. IMI bullets! Once that stash runs out I'll have to switch to some 147gr. subsonics... This also does well as an intermittant 22LR can.
While some brands are quieter to a meter, I can't tell the difference.

Yeah there are some other folks on another forum who will question your basic intelligence if you buy a can NOT based on DB reduction. Apparently they don't realize not everyone has unlimited funds.
Anyway My lower should be on its way back from Orion arms in a week or so and I can get to mailing my Form1 for my 9mm SBR.
What did you do for a top half on the 9mm? Magwell, mags? etc ?

The 9mm setup is smooth and I had no hiccups.
It consisted of a RRA upper and barrel cut back to 7" by ADCO. DD 7.0 rail. PRI front and ARMS #40L BUIS's. I ran a fakepoint and sometimes an EOTech on top. Registered lower with a Geissele match two stage trigger. The Geissele hammer worked great with the 9mm bolt. RRA mag block that would feed hollow points just as well as FMJ's. Modified Uzi mags I did myself as well as RRA modified ones. Also a few Promags too. The ONLY problem I had was one Uzi mag I altered had a weak spring that wouldn't properly feed the last couple of rounds. That was it.
Here's a video of this upper on a friend's M16 lower:

And another:

For times that I wanted to run unsuppressed I had a custom flash suppressor made to just stick out of the handguard. Otherwise the barrel did not extend past the handguard. Here's a pic:

Nice setup! Why not buy the 7" already from RRA?
I'm not a fan of optics on rifles, just would rather spend the cash elsewhere. I'll be using a detach carry handle and some sort of flip up sight on RRA's front gasblock sight base.

Republic Arms off Ella Blvd and 610 loop (on the way to town from the areas you show on your map) will help you get an LLC for $300.00. Just come to the store with the cash and three choices for a name for the LLC. They will submit all the paperwork and they sell Gemtech's. I'm considering the purchase of a P22 with Gemtech.

if you got the dough then go for it. we have a couple of class 3 dealers here in okc that will do it for free when purchasing through them.

IIRC it is the State of Texas that charges the $300.00.

I think I only paid the state $200 when I formed my LLC. So the other $100 must be their transfer fee.

Get a copy of Quiken WillMaker and form a trust, a lot cheaper than $700.

I think that is what the locals are doing here is with the trust. I have heard quicken willmaker is the way to go.
Have Gemtech 308 suppressor. My application is different. I love it.
But, I also love my SWR cans.
