i recently bought one of these. i love it, with the factory iron sights i got a headshot on a rabbit from 50' the first day i shot it! i really like being able to shoot colibris and cb caps too. anyway- i was wondering if anyone out there has ever drilled and tapped one for a scope mount? it came with a stupid little beaver tail style mount but id like to put one of my bushnell 12x's on it.
thanks.

Tasco makes mounts for the 'beavertail' which accept 1" scope tubes. Bought a couple sets at Wal-Mart.

Weaver has similar and I suspect other scope makers have them also. I like the Tasco better than the Weaver but I heard Tasco has bit the dust, chap 7.

Is there a reason you want the larger centerfire style mount?

I put a Tasco red dot on my Henry pump and it is holding up fine with the factory rails. Also have a Simmons 8 point on my Henry pump with the weaver peep thru rings (to get at hammer better) and the grooved rail on top is working fine with the weaver rings. Have had the lever set up like this for about 3 years and no problemo with loose scope, etc.

You really want a 12 power scope on a .22?

Hey camshaft,
Does that Henry have the stupid safety that Taurus puts on their pump .22?

I can answer this. No, it does not.

FWIW, I've gotten so used to it being there, I don't even think about it. The Taurus pump is a great gun.

I know you like that Taurus. You almost talked me into one a while back but I looked them over and my eyes kept getting drawn to that silly safety.
It is such a shame because I like the gun and I like the company but I do not dislike Henry so I suspect that I will go that route. I still need to see and handle one though.
Thanks.
Mike
