Had to go to Owensboro for work so I made some time for Whittakers. :supergrin:
What a great shop. I am amazed at some of the off the wall deals. He had a Charles Daly Pump tactical shotgun for $139 NIB.
I ended up with several boxes of Federal Premium Turkey shot shells for $5 box and a used Benelli Nova shotgun $229. Also found a nice Galco leather holster for $20 in the bargain bin.
I was hoping to find some powder for my .223 loads, but they were out. Ammo was nuts even there. 500 rounds of 7.62x39 for $115. $63 for 300 rounds of 7.62x54R. I noticed 20 round boxes of .454 ammo for $26.99 (20 rounds) and then the same load / brand for $40.99.
When I asked what was the difference I was told the $26.99 was old stock and $40.99 was the new stuff. Wow that is a jump. Sure miss the days that .223 cases were $100 and 9mm was $5 a box.
I figured two hours was enough so I headed back. If you haven't been there you should make the trip.
