How long have you owned your snubbie? I purchased mine in 1979 as a BUG. A lot of guns have come and gone, but have always held on to this one.

Edit: added pic of S&W mod 60

My oldest is the pre 34 Kit gun (flat latch)
I think it dates 1950-ish, IIRC, had it maybe 5yrs myself.

I had a rossi that was made in the 80's that had never been shot. My stupid self sold it a few months ago to get a 9mm:upeyes:. I had a charter arms that was made in the 80's also, and I gave it to my mother-in-law. Aaaand I have a smith 638 on layaway riiight now. Its a 2007 :tongueout:

1957 Model 31, 3" flat latch square butt

1960 model of a flat latch 36 that is used daily. My wife took it over a year or so back. Great shooter.

Nice Agent... or is it a Cobra?

For some strange reason, I had a desire to own a Colt D-frame for a while there. Fortunately, it passed.

Not that there's anything WRONG with Colt D-frames; but one in good condition would cost the same as two good J frames.

Except, of course, for a like-new pre-lock 342; I'm about to pay WAY too much for one, but it serves me right for passing on another one that was priced right, back in the summer.

Thanks to pangris (a mod here) for locating that jewel for me. Pics when I get it...

Oh... no hi-jack. I meant to say that my flat-latch M-37 is my oldest J frame. I whacked the hammer spur and had it Black T'ed; it lives in deep storage, for hard times. Can do pics of that one if anyone is interested.

Bought this 49-no dash in 1975 from an FBI agent who bought it in about 1972. He had just gotten it back from the smiths at Quantico when I bought it. Very slick trigger. I carried it everyday as my backup/second/off duty/undercover gun from 1975 until 1995 when I bought a 649.

This is a j frame forum. Do they make J frames in anything but Bodyguards?

I've owned "snubbies" since '86.
My oldest example, however, a Colt Detective Special, was made in '51.
