Can you remember any infamous or famous snubbies? I know of two that were featured in separate Pulitzer Prize winning photographs...
Here's something to get you thinking:

Ephraim Zimbalist Jr. used this .32 Long Colt Banker's Special because he was small in stature, and a large revolver would look "off" onscreen. Serial number is a Stembridge mark on the outside, 7063.

I couldn't find a better picture, but 2 of these 3 guys have snubbies IIRC.
(Joe & Nice Guy Eddie did, but Mr. White used an S&W semiauto. Guess who survived the scene?)

That is a kick-butt setup there, but why the hell would he have a 1911 AND a Beretta? It would make a lot more sense to have two of the same....

Armed with snub-nosed .38, Miss America 1944 stops intruder on her farm
‘Miss America 1944 has a talent that likely has never appeared on a beauty pageant stage: She fired a handgun to shoot out a vehicle’s tires and stop an intruder.
Venus Ramey, 82, confronted a man on her farm in south-central Kentucky last week after she saw her dog run into a storage building where thieves had previously made off with old farm equipment.
Ramey said the man told her he would leave. “I said, ‘Oh, no you won’t,’ and I shot their tires so they couldn’t leave,” Ramey said.
She had to balance on her walker as she pulled out a snub-nosed .38-calibre handgun.’

L.A Confidential. .38 snubnoses everywhere you look, and a couple 1911s if I remember right.
I'm surprised Hinckley managed to get off as many shots as he did, the one time I fired a RG .22, it took approximately 12 trigger pulls to get five rounds to even fire.
I don't know how famous these are, but for you snubbie fans, here's some more to reflect on...
1) Rico Tubbs used his 12-shot M38 S&W Bodyguard ( ;) ), kept in an ankle holster, as back-up to his sawed-off Ithaca on "Miami Vice."
2) Tony Baretta carried a brace of .38 snubbies (Mexican-carry for one, tucked in his boot for the other) for his shoot-outs... BTW, this was one of the first instances I can recall seeing on standard T.V. programming of any cop having an actual BUG!
3) Now I'm REALLY showing my age on this one, but Mike Connors pulled a .38 snubbie from the small of his back to get him out of tight squeezes in the old series "Tightrope." In an era in which every contemporary carried his gat/rod/roscoe in a shoulder holster, this was downright RADICAL! :)
Sweet thread, :wavey:
Love the Jack Ruby pic.

Wasn't Mike Connors in Mannix?
glockess56,
Yep -- Mike Connors was also "Mannix"... But before that (I'm guessing maybe 10 years, off the top of my head), he did a T.V. series called "Tightrope," where he played an undercover agent infiltrating the mob.

Dennis Franz carried a snubbie in NYPD Blue as Sipowitz, while every one else had Glocks. He was "Old School"......The ending scene of Once Upon a Time in America when Max (James Woods) put a snubbie in front of Noodles (Robert Deniro) and wanted him to kill him.

Sgt. Jack Vincennes also carried a nickel-plated 1911.

One of the Great Marketing Blunders of the latter 20th Century… although they did come with "locking gun rugs," was Charter Arms' 1989 SHOT Show introduction: specially marked "his and hers" Police Undercover model revolvers, curiously yclept "Bonnie & Clyde," in, respectively, .32 H&R Magnum and .38 Special! The catalogue copy read:
Today's shooters often blend tradition with a flair for something new, something different. And, we find, that more and more frequently, couples are taking to the shooting ranges together. So we decided to offer a special set for those couples, collectors, and any hand*gunner who wants a revolver that offers a style and flair that is, in a word, contemporary.
Sold only by the pair, the MSRP was $579.95, and were nowhere to be found in subsequent Charter Arms catalogues. No word on whether the company ever licensed any intellectual property from the Parker or Barrow families.

That is sooooo cool.
I would carry both... and when someone pissed me off, I would ask them if they wanted to meet my friends, Bonnie & Clyde :rofl:
Didin't James Caan use an SP 101 in the final shootout? I remember watching that (should watch it again as I have it on DVD but I'm too lazy) and thinking:
"Damn! I think i have one of those!"

Actually, Bud White got the 1911 and the Ithaca 37 (with a handful of shells) out of his car just before that fight. He was the warrior; Exley was the politician/pogue who got lucky and survived to prosper.
Today, Exley's character wouldn't even HAVE a gun on him; and wouldn't get within five miles of a clandestine meeting place like that.
That was a pretty deep film, on several levels.

Don't forget that Jack Lord in Hawaii 5-0 carried a S&W Model 37 with oversize Fitz grips on the show in a shoulder holster. And of course who could forget Brodrick Crawford in Highway Patrol ( 21-50 to HQ) used a Colt 2" to shoot out car tires from a helicopter. Also Gregory Hines used 2 Model 60's in the movie Off Limits.

Speaking of car tires and Hawaii Five-O, McGarrett was probably single-handedly responsible for the death of more rubber trees than any man alive...
