No surprise to us, but I'm actually surprised the Lansing State Journal, being the liberal rag it is, would even print it.

I would like to know why they thought that law abiding citizens carrying guns would have lead to more crime...

Duh-h. Because guns are inherently evil and they make good people do bad things. Jeez, don't you know anything?

It's called "Projection". They don't believe they could trust themselves to control their anger in a road-rage situation, or other confrontation, so they "project" that onto every one else as well.
In other words, since they can't trust themselves, no one can be trusted. They think everyone will act as they would.
The thing that gets me is that the same thing happens every time a state passes a CCW law...or "shall issue". Something like 40 states have it now, and every time the liberals warn of all kinds of "shoot-outs", "blood in the streets", etc.
You'd think they'd learn something from all the other states. Nothing bad happened in any state so far...why do they think it will happen in their state?
